My husband and I stay at the Waterford Manor for our anniversary. We stayed in the King Arthur Suite and had a couples massage in their Spa. It was very relaxing and peacefull.

When we arrived and shown to our room the fireplace was lite, there was wine on ice and candles lite around our room. Very romantic! We had our massages late afternoon in there beautiful spa and then relaxed in our extra large Jacuzzi before going out to supper. We had breakfast in bed the next morning. Delisious French Toast, Coffee, Juice and Yogurt!

The staff were very friendly, the suite was very clean and comfortable and the wine on ice, fireplace lite and candles were an extra special touch which made our anniversary that much better!

I can't wait to spend another night at the Waterford Manor!

Upon arrival, our rooms weren't ready and they discovered an error in the booking. They cleaned out the current occupant's stuff so they could clean the room for us. That creeped me out right there. It went downhill from there. Our room had a bathroom "inserted" into it right by the bed. There was frosted glass between bedroom and bathroom. When someone used bathroom, it made the bedroom bright too, and impossible to leep. Even worse, they serve breakfast from early in the AM using very loud wheeled carts that you can't sleep through. A dog nearby barked the whole time, and the place was incredibly noisy at night esp when a wedding party arrived drunk and loud. Pink paint was peeling off the outside of the house. We found the place very noisy, weird, uncomfortable, far from everything, and totally odd. A very young man appeared to run the place from the basement. This was a couple years ago so maybe they've improved but after 20 years of staying in Newfoundland B and Bs, I now try to avoid them after this experience.

We stayed here for a night in mid-August. The hotel was very pleasant, and very quiet. It appeared there was only one other party in the hotel while we were there. They upgraded our room for free when we got there. We had a nice bedroom with a small, old fashioned sitting room attached.

The staf were pleasant. The food was comparable to all the other places we stayed on our trip.

The location was nice. It is a quick few minutes drive to the downtown from the hotel, but the hotel itself is in a nice quiet spot.

My husband and I stayed at the Waterford Manor in one of the honeymoon suites called Victoria's Attic for $139 per night (this included a delicious breakfast). This was the off season rate and seemed reasonable compared to other inns. The room was beautiful and very well kept with all the amenities. The jacuzzi was wonderful and the sitting areas very cozy. The doors to all the other rooms were open (as long as no one was staying in them) so we peeked in just to have a look. All the other rooms were as clean and inviting as ours. The regular rooms were not quite as large as the suites but all had their own bathrooms.

When we arrived there was someone there to meet us but from then on the place was very quite. We were given a code to open the front door and there was a number to call in case we needed anything. There was juice, milk and ice in the fridge in the kitchen (we also had a mini fridge and coffee machine in our room) and on both floors there were carts with tea, coffee and hot chocolate. The breakfast was delivered to our room when we requested and the room was cleaned while we were out.

We found the location of the Waterford to be perfect for us. It's on a beautiful street about 3kms from the downtown area and there wasn't a lot of traffic at night. We had rented a car and were a nice distance to the malls, downtown, Signal Hill and Cape Spear.

We had a lovely stay at the Waterford and felt it was worth the money - although I'm not sure I would be willing to pay the on season rates had we gone in the summer.
