First of all you cannot beat this hotel when staying in st.johns. A Minutes walk from mile one centre, and a stones throw from an abundance of bars and restraurants in historic downtown st.johns. The hotel itself inside is in big need of some renovations. Our room has cracked drywall on the ceiling in multiple places, the shower head was ready to fall off, dings and dents in the walls, just an overall general state of being worn out from years of guests. The elevators however are a different story, Just plain rotten inside. Although they had signs up saying it was due to labor issues with their elevator company it was still very very shabby looking. Although none of this affected our stay or sleep quality when you pay almost $200 a night you would expect much better. The front desk staff were fine and the room was clean overall. The day we left however was a different story, being delta privilage club members you get the option of late check in/out. We were watching TV and one of the hotel staff per just opened our door (never knocked) looked at us and asked when we were checking out. No hello or sorry for intruding, I really DID not like this at all, especially the part where she just barged in. Im big on privacy and expect privacy no matter where i stay, I do not like when hotel staff just barge in your asking you when you are leaving. Kind of made us feel like we were getting the " bums rush" to leave.
