We arrived at St.John's and had booked a single room. The room was very nice and had a memory foam insert (liked it). However, as we were a couple and had my boyfriends daughter on occasion, it was too small. The owner offered us two rooms for a nominal charge (cheap). We accepted and were helped to move very quickly. But, the rooms were separate and not suitable (although very nice, it just did not meet our needs). Leonard sent out an email to the various B&B's in St. John's for a suite that might be available. We had the email printed and delivered to our room as soon as we got back. We moved to the next B&B as it was a two bedroom apartment that suited our needs. Leonard only charged us for the time we spent even though they had a policy of 7 day cancellation. I would highly recommend the professionalism of Gower Street B&B and plan to stay there next year by booking the suites earlier in advance. Extremely good service.

I recently relocated from Detroit and stayed at a B&B to economize while I
was searching for an apartment. I stayed in a couple in the downtown area.

The first (Abba Inn) had spacious rooms and convenient location.

It was right in the heart of downtown St. John's, in the trendy historic
properties area, within a 10 to 15 walk of just about everything.

There are lots of excellent restaurants around, the museums, art galleries &
the Cathedrals. All the streets in the area are well lit and I certainly
felt quite comfortable strolling around the area, especially after having
lived in Detroit.

The room was clean and bed was very comfortable and I slept
like a baby.

The Wi-Fi was free as was the phone, and last but not least, morning
breakfast
was tasteful and filling.

We were a bit turned off by the unfriendly owners when we first arrived, I think they own 2-3 other properties and so it is more of a business proposition for them as opposed to other B&B owners who welcome you into their home. That aside, the location is perfect for walking around St John's, and you get the chance to live in one of the old-style "jellybean" houses that St John's is famous for.
The room was great, private bathroom, big window, wifi, TV. Breakfast was delicious and cooked to order. Good value, especially as their is a 5% discount if you pay cash. I would recommend it, mainly due to the perfect location.

Nice facilities, everything was of the best quality, linens, towels etc. The breakfast was always ready on time in the mornings and well prepared. The staff are helpful, for anyone not familiar with St. John's. The location is convenient, and we were able to walk everywhere. All in all, a great place to stay; I've been there many times, and never been disappointed.
