“Outstanding”

On line viewing is amazing in it's self.
When you actually get there (Humber Valley, Corner Brook) and experience living there sharing as I did making memorable moments with family, theses
chalets were outstanding, seriously. Huge and beautifully laid out for the
comfort of everybody's stay. Just like home.

I was there for my brother's daughters wedding.

My nephew loves golfing and told me that the Humber Valley Golf coarse, which is right there where you"ll be staying is one top notch golf coarse.

I trust your experience will be as memorable as well.

“all year round paradise!!”

Have been coming out to Humber Valley Resort for a few years both in the summer and winter and we love it. Whether it is the friendliness of the people, the fantastic scenery, the ability to chill out or what there is something special about this place. In winter you have a ski hill 10 minutes away which, whilst not difficult by European standards, is great for families with children as there is hardly anyone around and you can literally ski up and down each of the runs without waiting in lift queues!! The people in the ski rental are my favourites as they cannot do enough for you and let you change your boots, skis or boards to find the right ones without fuss. There is a lovely big and beautiful lodge at the base where you can relax have a beer or something to eat. You can also skidoo, dog sledge, ice fish and so many more things which are magical.

In the summer you are able to play on the resort golf course which is one of the most beautiful courses any golfer will ever play on, fish for trout or salmon in the Humber River or go out to Cox's Cove and try your hand at catching cod, mackerel, squid and a host of other fish which will be gutted and cleaned for you ready to bring back to your chalet and pan fry or barbecue. Together with the scenery at Gros Morne, whale and iceberg watching up at St Anthony's, gorgeous beaches at Burgeo there is hardly enough time even to list what we have done.

If you are looking for something different and special this is the place!

“Nice rentals...lack a few details”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 August 2011

We stayed here for a family wedding. The rental houses are very large and great for big crowds. They have many sizes availble for rent. We had a 3 bedroom right on the 18th hole of the golf course. Each bedroom is large with an ensuite bathroom. Big kitchens and living rooms and most if not all the rental houses had pool talbles, satellite tv, washer and dryer. There is fishing and golf right on the resort.

Some of the issues I had were with the details. For the price of the rental (about $3000 for the week) I would expect a little more. The hot tub cost $200 extra to fill and $35 per night to use so we didn't bother. For the price we paid I would expect that to be included. There was a large deck with no patio furniture. To use the sauna we had to get a pair of plyers to get the timer to work. Some of the screens did not fit properly so there were bugs getting in to the house.

“Visit Humber Valley Saved our Christmas”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 December 2010

We are new to Western Newfoundland, and consistently disappointed with the service at many businesses here. So for Christmas, we wanted to experience something special without leaving the island. We chose a stay at the Humber Valley Resort. There seem to be many rental companies out there for the Humber Valley, but we were impressed with Visit Humber Valley's website, which made booking less confusing. Their website is professional and easy to navigate. Our questions were answered promptly and professionally.

Upon arrival to the resort, our check-in was friendly, fast, and efficient. We were provided with an information package from Visit Humber Valley that included everything we needed. After we reached our Chalet, 3 Riverside Drive, we were blown away by their service -- we were welcomed with chocolate truffles and a Christmas greeting card from the Visit Humber Valley team. Soon after check-in one of the owners of Visit Humber Valley even dropped by to see if we had any questions about anything in the chalet, A really nice touch. The staff has the charm and friendliness that Newfoundland is known for, but the professionalism and courtesy that seems to be lacking elsewhere in Western Newfoundland hotels.

The chalet itself was clean, bright, and comfortable. I appreciate the small details like hairdryers in the bathroom, fluffy towels, comfortable mattresses and pillows. I also appreciate the well-stocked kitchen which included state-of-the-art pots and pans, wine glasses, silverware, dinner service for 8, and high quality knives. I would imagine the more serious cooks might want to bring some of their own tried-and-true utensils, but really all one needs to bring is food and wine! Things like salt and pepper and sugar were also available. The dining room was spacious and could easily seat 8 with a lovely deck overlooking the woods that would be perfect for dining on in summer.

The resort itself is beautiful and private. We went for long walks throughout the resort and enjoyed stunning views of the Humber Valley. It reminded us of some of the vistas we've seen in the Rocky Mountains and in the highlands of Scotland. I especially enjoyed running throughout the resort early Christmas morning.

The intimate setting, the privacy and quiet, was second to none. We enjoyed the fireplace and the cathedral ceiling in the sunken living room. It felt as comfortable as home, while still feeling like a relaxing, invigorating get-away.

I really feel that Visit Humber Valley was the best choice for our Christmas vacation, we really believe their service saved our Christmas from being simply mediocre. We're already planning our next visit.

Just stayed for 3 nights while on vacation from Alberta. Very nice places, clean and spacious. There is a small playground for kids, golf is great and hot tub made the stay.
