We had a queen room with a fireplace and ensuite bathroom. All in all, we stayed a dozen nights at bed and breakfasts and would rank Elaine's right up there at the top! The room was excellent with windows looking out over the bay. Breakfast was a treat right from the hot blueberry muffins to the fruit, eggs, and bacon.

Elaine suggested a restaurant that night and even offered to make reservations. She has a delightful sense of humor and knows the area well. Not only that, she is adept at encouraging conversation between her visitors and has a great sense of humor! Also, we liked the common area on the main floor where you could relax, look at information on Newfoundland, and enjoy the view. When weather is nice, there are chairs right out by the bay. We would stay here again if given the opportunity.

The title says it all. Extremely beautiful location about 1/2 hour drive from st. John's. House and room impeccably clean. Splendid view and super friendly and welcoming hosts. I would return anytime and I highly recommend this place!!!

Elaine's B & B was a highlight of our trip to NL. The scenic view from their home is spectacular and Elaine and Danny are welcoming hosts with wit and and a great sense of humour. We were thrilled when we saw whales on our zodiak tour (a side business of theirs and worth the fee). We had a bon fire under the moonlight in the evening and swapped stories with other guests. The house is spotless, the rooms are well appointed and the full breakfast was delicious and filling. I highly recommend this gem for a great B & B experience.

If you like the warmth of a family environment, a spotless home, a scrumptious breakfast that will last you past lunch, very comfortable beds, a magnificent view and easy access to the Avalon, then why would consider any place other than Elaine's! Tom, Mike & I felt like we belonged from the words "hello". Elaine, her family and staff member are obviously very comfortable being B & B hosts. A short walk from the B & B, they also offer Zodiac tours of Witless Bay. A zodiac is the way to go - you are right next to the whales - we felt sorry for the folks on the boats - so far way from the action. We were lucky enough to see Fin and Humpback whales as well as some dolphins. At the bird sanctuary we saw Puffins, razor bills, gannets, kitty wakes, murrs and herring gulls. The two days we spent here was our best value of the week!
