Thsi old residence is in an old working class neighborhood that appears to be undergoing a restoration and gentrafication. The residential areas have sort of a gritty charm of a better time long past. The location is very good. You park your car in the street near the hotel. Seemed very safe. You can walk easily to most that the city has to offer. There are historical parks, good restaurants, shopping areas, museums, all within walking distance. Very cool even for July. Cool winds off of the surrounding waters. Steve, the innkeeper, is very helpful with advice on what to see in the Atlantic Provences. TV is worthless. Bathrooms the size of a closet. But Steve makes a reasonably good breakfast. Clean with a certain old world charm.
Good restaurant nearby. Beatty and the Bistro. Good food prepared by nice British lady. Bit pricey, but what the heck.
