My husband and I stayed 2 nights and found the hotel nice. Check in was simple and the room was large, though oddly shaped (rm 702). The king bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The tv and lounge chair were positioned so you had to move them around to use them, though it wasn't a big issue.
The elevators were not clean, however. The floor tiles were cracked and the second door scraped when it opened and closed, causing scratching and ripping of the vinyl inner covering of the door. Also, and to me the worst, was the brass on the elevator by the buttons was very dirty and stained from liquids being dropped or sloshed around - neither option was very good. I hated touching the buttons with anything but my sleeve.
There is a workout room that is fairly good sized with a number of cardio machines and a universal type machine. The lighting was poor - lightbulbs were out in 2 places, leaving 'mood lighting' for a workout and the floor was dirty - not swept or mopped at all - I got dirty hands from my stretching routine. The locked temperature box stayed at about 21 C in the room, which became very hot during the workout due to no moving air at all! There were vent exchanges, but no air moving and no fans. Hopefully no one overheats and passes out, because there are no windows to look into the room, only thick wall glass type bricks that no one would ever be able to see in. While there, a housekeeper came in, took the dirty towels and left, never looking at the floors or anything.
There is a restaurant in the hotel that we tried to use but couldn't. On Sunday, we tried to go there for a brunch/meal. We arrived at 1050 am and were told it closed at 1100am, but the lounge served food. We found it odd that a restaurant closed at 1100 on a weekend, then went to the lounge to find no breakfast food. Fortunately the concierge told us we could use the pedways to get to Cora's for food.
The best thing about the hotel is its proximity to the pedways for downtown area. We used them to eat out and see some of the city in the cold winter air.
Overall, not sure if we would stay here again. If the price was right and we didn't want to use the facilities (restaurant, workout room), perhaps - there is a Delta among the pedways to stay downtown too.

Thank you for your review. We are pleased that you enjoyed your King bed Harbour View room and thank you for your positive comments on its cleanliness. We apologise sincerely for the condition of the elevator and the fitness room. We are currently in the final phase of our 4m remodelling project, the last phase of which involves complete refit of the guest elevators (late february) and renovation of the fitness centre (early March). All bedrooms have been remodelled and also the lounge bar renovation begins February 8th. Upon your return you will no longer experience the elevator and fitness centre problems you incurred in January. The restaurant/lounge remodelling will be complete by end of March and our new Bistro and cocktail lounge will allow all day dining from early breakfast to late night, all in one location. Thank you for your loyalty during this time of remodelling and we hope to welcome you back as our guest in the near future. Safe travels! Dermot
