“Couldn't ask for more!”

This was an unexpected stop on our way to Cape Breton, as the weather forced us of the road. From the outside it didn't look like much but we took our chances. It turned out to be one of the best places we have ever stayed!

It was a bit expensive (just under $90 for a queen size bed), but nice. Sure the decor was a little dated but the quality of the service was amazing! There was a young girl at the desk and she was a helpful little thing. She was able to inform us about vearious things to do and places to eat in town and was even able to tell us about Sackvilles history.

Off on through the night we went into the office looking for things (forks, extra coffee, ect.) and she was able to get them for us no question asked- even a hairdryer!

The only downfall of the place is that breakfast is not included.

If were ever on our way through this area again I will definatly be stopping!

Room Tip: Try to get room 12A, 14, or 15. We found out later that these rooms have been updated and contain no...

“Clean, comfortable, budget accommodation”

This is an older motel, so obviously a bit dated in it's decor (blue toilet and bath) but was clean, and good value for the price. If all you want is a clean room to sleep in, this is the place.

“Always like going home.”

When on business or pleasure trips, we stay at the Tantramar. The service is excellent and they have gone above and beyond to make the stay a pleasant one. I don't even consider staying anywhere else and keep coming back year after year. I have suggested it to colleages.
It's a little like going home as I was once lived in this area. Doug and Nancy, the owners are excellent.

“Cheap, but seedy......”

The motel has a good view of the RCI transmitter site over the hihgway, but that's the only good point.

The room (number 7) was musty smelling, and the carpets were poorly cleaned, with debris round the edges and under the bed....and to make maters worse there was a used condom dumped beside the toilet !!!

The reaction from the management the day after when told about it was "ok"......

Needless to say i won't be staying at this motel again......

“Excellent Value”

We stayed at the Tantramar Motel in June of 2001. It was excellent value as it was very reasonably priced and the rooms were spacious and clean. It is an older establishment but more than adequate for our needs. We stayed for a week. One great perk is that if you eat at Bordens restaurant, just up the street, they will deduct 10 percent off the "food" part of the bill. The food was wonderful home-cooked styled food, at a reasonable price and huge portions. We ate there every evening except for one. We are going back to stay at the Tantramar again this June (2003) and I am really looking forward to another week there.
