What could be better than staying where all the action is while enjoying the peace and quiet of a room overlooking the historic junction of the Red and Assiniboine rivers? This is the place to stay if you are celebrating with friends or spending a weekend in the ‘Peg taking in the many Winnipeg attractions.

Having stayed here before with full intentions of returning, I booked a couple of rooms to celebrate a special event with my friends. The main activities on our agenda were skating on the river trail and shopping.

A phone reservation was made by a very welcoming and competent young man. Upon arrival, we were allowed into the room earlier than expected which was greatly appreciated because we were all anxious to go skating. Such a great location for skating because you can put on your skates and guards right in the room and walk a short distance to the overland trails. Then down some stairs and you’re on the river trail, a spectacular 3.2 km skating rink. We had so much fun – I highly recommend doing this with a group of friends. If they don’t have skates, no problem, there are very good skates for rent right at the Forks. In addition to skating, you can also walk and cross country ski beside the trail.

If you’re not up for the river trail, then stay at the Inn and take in some of the other Winnipeg attractions from this convenient location. Right across from the Inn is the Children’s Museum and soon-to-be-open Variety Heritage Adventure Park. You are only minutes away from the baseball stadium, the Manitoba Museum, the Planetarium, the MTS Centre (home of the Winnipeg Jets) and the Concert Hall. A short drive will take you to the Exchange District with eclectic shops and live theatre, Assiniboine Park, FortWhyte Alive and Osborne Village.

More things to enjoy about the Inn include: clean, super quiet rooms with a view, pleasant staff, good dining choices (try the lounge with live jazz on Saturday nights) and convenient and secure parking. I’m sure the Inn at the Forks will provide you with an over-the-top experience that will keep you coming back for more.
