I come to Winnipeg very often, I would say at least 5 times per year and usually for a week at the time so I tried many hotels and I am giving this review considering my personal experience with other hotels in the area.
This hotel is nice, very busy and may not be the best place to go if you want to relax..
It was perfect for work as it is only a 5 mins drive to where I had to work.
Employees are nice helpful and smiling..
rooms are OK, standard room furniture was ok, bathroom OK (water rpessure is a bit low but that's ok) nice LCD TV. so far everything is pretty good except for the following which will likely make me stay somewhere else next time.
In other word, if you come to play at the Casino, this hotel is perfect for you.. bring your cash because you'll need it.
I also like that the people visiting the casino cannot access the lower level of the hotel and also that their is a the QUIET time from 11 PM to 7 AM.
glad the casino is not open 24 hours a day..it's really busy
now the bad side.......
Food is OK but VERY expensive (had Brunch this morning, 16.95$ and it does not include coffee or orange juice which is another 2.59$ and the coffee is horrible)
Room service they charge you a $2.60 charge for room service, no offense but you should bury that cost in you food.
then Last night when I called and ordered food, they told me that they would call me back because they were too busy?? WHAT?? it's $150 a night for a regular room, when I call for food you should be waiting for my call. We're in Winnipeg not NYC or LA...gimme a break.
The hotel restaurant should be a priority for the hotel, not everyone at the casino or hire a lot more staff, telling you guest that you are too busy to take the order is NOT ACCEPTABLE.
I would recommmend the hotel, but go out to eat.. there are tons of restaurant whitin a KM from here.
