“Expensive for what u get”

We stayed at this hotel for a hockey tournament. Hotel is attatched to a casino which wasnt a huge deal. We had a queen room with a sofa bed. Room smelled like stale smoke. Matresses were scary. Shared the bed because the sofabed didnt look too great. Every night we had people partying hard on our floor and nothing was done. Pool was quite small. Service at restaurant was horrible. Food not fantastic either. Only good thing was it was close to mall. 3 minute drive or so. Hotel was very far from the airport. All in all, not impressed for what we had to pay, and supposedly we got a deal!

Very good information, thank you so much for advising us on how we can improve. I myself have stayed in those rooms and although I didn't smell any smoke on the property. All Canad hotels are 100% smoke free and if you do there is an automatic $250.00 fine. Does everybody follow that? Of course not, after a possibly losing night in the casino people will do the oddest things. Nonetheless I will need to close that room down and deep clean to ensure the next guest does not have the same experience. As for the pullout sofa's....I agree they are horrible. They are ten years old and my four year old loves but for anybody larger than that they are very uncomfortable. I have it on my list to repace these as soon as possible. The mattresses are all brand new, they are the Restonic Brand which are very good but again I'll look into these.

Thanks so much for the feedback, without it we cannot continue to improve!

“Pricey for poor service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 March 2011

Rooms were pricey for family, especially when they charge a 200 dollar deposit on top of the room price. For a hotel with a Casino I could have spent that money in their Casino or shopping in their city.
Rooms were clean, bathroom tub newer but did not include little extras like shower curtain that curves out and shower head outdated.
Security was rude, our group had whole floor and they made us close doors at 1100 sharp. Wouldnt let 15 year old girls out of rooms after 11.
Ice machine broken on our floor. Hair dryer broken in my room, however, maintainance fixed right away.

“Good Location fairly pricy”

I come to Winnipeg very often, I would say at least 5 times per year and usually for a week at the time so I tried many hotels and I am giving this review considering my personal experience with other hotels in the area.

This hotel is nice, very busy and may not be the best place to go if you want to relax..
It was perfect for work as it is only a 5 mins drive to where I had to work.
Employees are nice helpful and smiling..

rooms are OK, standard room furniture was ok, bathroom OK (water rpessure is a bit low but that's ok) nice LCD TV. so far everything is pretty good except for the following which will likely make me stay somewhere else next time.

In other word, if you come to play at the Casino, this hotel is perfect for you.. bring your cash because you'll need it.
I also like that the people visiting the casino cannot access the lower level of the hotel and also that their is a the QUIET time from 11 PM to 7 AM.

glad the casino is not open 24 hours a day..it's really busy

now the bad side.......

Food is OK but VERY expensive (had Brunch this morning, 16.95$ and it does not include coffee or orange juice which is another 2.59$ and the coffee is horrible)

Room service they charge you a $2.60 charge for room service, no offense but you should bury that cost in you food.
then Last night when I called and ordered food, they told me that they would call me back because they were too busy?? WHAT?? it's $150 a night for a regular room, when I call for food you should be waiting for my call. We're in Winnipeg not NYC or LA...gimme a break.

The hotel restaurant should be a priority for the hotel, not everyone at the casino or hire a lot more staff, telling you guest that you are too busy to take the order is NOT ACCEPTABLE.

I would recommmend the hotel, but go out to eat.. there are tons of restaurant whitin a KM from here.

We have stayed here numerous times as it is close to the Condordia hosp. The staff and management have gone out of their way to accomodate us . We nave never been treated as good as we have here. A great place to stay.
I only wish it was pet friendly.
