Stayed here as I had an early morning flight out the next day and it was close to the airport for a good price. This hotel is fast getting tired. The carpet is worn out everywhere, the wood trim around the windows is cracked and falling off, and all features of the hotel are at the end of their useful lifespan. Towels are getting worn pretty thin and the elevator is painfully slow. The hotel has started catering towards people from the North who travel for medical appointments on the government's dime. So there were plenty of somewhat questionable people sporting gang colours just loitering throughout the hotel and sitting on every chair and bench they could find. The business centre was full of kids on facebook, and there was no decorum enforced by hotel staff. It was an early flight so I retired for the night early, but was kept awake by kids running up and down the halls well past midnight. Restaurant food was good, as was the service and the prices were fair. The pool was closed for renovations, and I never went to the fitness centre. They provide transport to the airport by putting you in a cab with a voucher, so this was very convenient. If you're travelling on business for more than one night, I would reccommend somewhere else. Beds were comfy and the free wifi was very nice.
Room Tip: As far from elevators as possible. Less kids runng

In response to the noted review, our hotel was at the beginning of our renovation and refreshening as it is now 10 years old. We had planned a complete makeover of the ground level of the hotel including all meeting and ballrooms by the end of the summer and we are on pace to have that accomplished. Room renovations were to begin in June of this year.
As a direct result of the massive flooding disaster in Manitoba this spring, the occupancy of many Winnipeg hotels has increased dramatically to help accommodate displaced families from affected communities. Many have lost their homes and lives have been placed in turmoil. Our hotel has displaced flood evacuee families who have no home at this time due to the disaster. Many of these guests have children and at times they are around the hotel. We have full time trained security and front desk employees conducting hotel property walk abouts to ensure proper hotel decorum is followed. There has not been and never will be, a tolerance of any "gang" activity at this hotel. Any interpretation of the way young people dress as gang related, is an individual perception. Our front desk staff are located in the the middle of our front lobby and are diligent in both their observations and duties.
We have guests staying at our hotel from all over the world. Some of these guests are from the north. They are all well behaved, paying clients who have booked at our hotel while on government travel status. Our hotel is a welcoming envionment to all travellers worldwide. We maintain high hotel standards and will continue to work hard to provide excellent client service and overall customer satisfaction.
