This is our home away from home when in Winnipeg for meetings. Location is fine for access to our office. Many of the rooms have been upgraded, which has added immensely to the hotel atmosphere. Ask for an upgrade to a king suite, you won't regret it. Our highlight always when staying here is the Tavern in the hotel. Staff is excellent, and it is a great place to unwind after meeting, have a couple of drinks, and enjoy some great finger food.

I stayed at this hotel when I came to the city for a doctor appointment for my son. We were put in a dirty room that had a huge chunk of gum or something smeared into the carpet in the main walkway between the beds and the bathroom. I called the front desk who sent up housekeeping with a vacuum...needless to say a vacuum doesn't work so well on old gum. She said they would deal with it the next day. They didn't, nor the day after that. I was pretty disappointed with that and the rest of it overall was below standard.

We stayed at the Canad Inn Polo Park for what was to be 4 nights starting Jan 13, 2012. The first night was ok, loud noise from the bar. The second night was much the same. Room was not great, but the beds were comfortable and the bedding nice. The third night however, was terrible. It started around 1:00 pm, loud drunk people in the hallway (felt like they were in our room, it was so loud) fighting. Security came and they were quiet for a bit, then it started again and again. Each time security came , each time it came again. My husband called down, and was told it was being looked after.. Finally got to sleep around 4:30am. At 8:00 am kids were running screaming up and down the hall , crying etc. We called and indicated we were checking out a day early due to the experience. No one apologized, no one said anything. An apology for this would have at least showed they cared. But nothing. I will never stay here again and will be very forthcoming in sharing this opinion with others. I travel to Winnipeg frequently but this hotel will not be getting my business again. Moved to the Hilton by the airport and it was wonderful.

Went there in Nov for a conference, the first night was ok, quiet and then they booked a group of teenager kids on our floor that were load and obnoxious. People walk on the hallway and it is like they are in your room, the only good thing is the mattress and bedding, they are great and comfy. Took a while to connect to internet so gave up (no port so had to connect wireless)...oh and there is a train that pass in the middle of the night and that is very loud.

Food though is good and cheap!!!!
