“Excellent Stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

Arrived late on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 for a two night stay for business in the 'Peg.

Have recently decided to change my hotel chain (as I love the Delta Rewards program).

Was very pleased! Comfy bed, quiet - and the heated floors were a nice touch.

Service was impeccable - definitely a great place to stay.

Can't wait for the WIFI though...

“Comfy beds in a hot room!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

Check in was quick and friendly. We came to the Delta for a hockey game and went up to the room before supper and the game. It was boiling hot in there, we turned the heat to cool, when we came back after the game our room was still hot.
On another note- Parking is inside, and great if you have a car. We have a new truck and had to go to the lower level. Our truck is a regular size truck. The ceilings in this indoor parking are very low! They had some areas that hit the truck but did have (some) rubber on them. On the way out, one of the pipes was about 2 inches too low and had to reverse (luckily the parking lot was empty so we could do so. If you park here bring a car.
The rooms are comfy and clean. The hotel lobby is nice. The convenience of walking in the sky walks to the Mts centre is really nice. If I were to stay here, I would be calling in the day of and get them to turn the heat to cool and I would bring a car.

Dear Valued Guest,

We've taken notes from your comments and will take action to address the issue with the heat in that particular room. We appreciate hearing feedback such as this as it helps us along our path of continuous improvement in all areas.

We're thrilled to hear you had a fabulous stay otherwise, and are glad you enjoyed your evening at the MTS Centre! Be sure to ask about game specials or MB resident's packages for your next hockey game stay!

“2012 and no WiFi in the rooms?”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

I live in a small town and no WiFi in hotel rooms is almost unheard of. to say the least I was blown away that there was no WiFi in the rooms here. Its a big city, and the hotel is right down town??? Will not go back for this reason alone! Total pain in the butt to sit in the lobby on my laptop!!

Front desk staff were great! food at the little lounge was alright! room service food was not that great at all. Over all it was okay but I would choose more wisely next time!

I was very nervous about the rooms as the hallways are very dated and run down. Pleasantly suprised to see the room had been upgraded and was not as run down.

“No WiFi in guest rooms!!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

I have been a completely satisfied guest since my first stay in 2008. Every single employee I've had the pleasure of coming in contact with have been nothing short of exemplary. They have been very accommodating to my requests (early check in, preferred room, etc). Couple of things that prevented me from giving this property a well-deserved Excellent : no WiFi in guest rooms AND sub-standard fitness center.

WiFi: how can a hotel operating in the 21st century have no WiFi in the rooms??? Granted it's available in the lobby, but that's inconvenient. As a business traveler, I've lightened my load and no longer carry a laptop. Not having this amenity will preclude me from returning here in my future travels.

Fitness Center: just as with the WiFi, it's unfortunate that a hotel of this high caliber not have a "decent" fitness center. I am not expecting fancy equipment and Olympic-type weight sets. Just machines that are within a couple of years old, please.

I apologize if my review seems harsh. I am a bit perturbed that my room has no WiFi and I am typing this at the Urban Bean cafe 10 minutes before they close.

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you for your comments. We're glad our staff have provided you with memorable experiences in the past, and we as a brand continue to earn your loyalty and business.

While we do have hard wired high-speed Internet access available in the guest rooms, we do understand the shortfall in meeting our guest's need for WiFi. We have addressed this need in the interim by providing complimentary WiFi in our lobby and cafe area, while we work towards implementing a permanent plan for WiFi in the guest rooms. We should have some great news to share in the next while.

As with guest concerns with WiFi, we have also recognized the need to revitalize the health club in terms of updating machines and equipment. We do maintain the equipment diligently and regularly, and all of our equipment is on a replacement schedule according to the manufacturer's standards, and based on general wear and tear. However, as with the WiFi, we do have plans to address these issues in the very near future and revitalize the club. So, please stay tuned for more updates.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your comments and allow us to assure you that we recognize your concerns, and are taking active steps to resolve these shortfalls in the very near future. We love having you as our guest, and look forward to having you back again soon.

Safe Travels,

“great experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

I was recommended this hotel from somebody. I emailed them with a couple of questions that I had about parking and access to the mts centre which was having an event we were going to. My email was responded to within 24 hours and answered all my questions. Some people have complained about the parking fee which I find redicioulous. The parking is very secure and right next to the elevators. The parking is underground and is heated so coming in the winter I did not have to worry about cleaning off my car or worry about my car being broken into while staying here. The fee is very reasonable with what I have had staying at other downtown hotels. The check in was very fast. I showed them my confirmation letter and card that I had reserved with and they gave me my room keys. I also asked them a how to get to the underground parking which was just to the left of the the main enterence of the hotel. I also asked them how to get to the mts centre from the hotel which they explained very clearly. They also said it was about a 7 minute walk which was correct. When I arrived in my room it was clean and very nice. It was everything I expected for the price. We decided to try the resturant in the hotel lobby called Blaze but after looking at the menu we decided it wasnt for us since we didnt find anything appitizing on the menu. It might be to some people but it wasnt for us. We did find a great resturant about a 5 minute walk using the skywalk in the mall that was connected called Boston Pizza. Checkout went smoothly also. The employees were very nice. If I come up to Winnipeg again I will defiently stay at the Delta Winnipeg again.
