“place to lay your head befor an early flight”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2010

had a very fast and friendly check in at 9pm. Room was clean, basic with 2 double beds and a tiny tv.No elevator.Wake up call was on time as was the free shuttle service. Shuttle service was a taxi that they paid for. Would be nice if they put out some muffins for those travelling befor 6 a.m. but coffee was on. We got a very good price on priceline but regular price is too high.

“Fine for the price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 September 2010

I booked thru name your own price on Priceline for $53. The regular rate of $114 is much too high. This is a business traveler hotel by the airport. TVs are old style. Cleanliness and breakfast are fine. Nothing outstanding about this place, but fine for the money.

“Consistant, comfortable, clean and secure hotel close to all amenities.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 September 2010

We have stayed here quite a few times, but occasionally stay somewhere different and we keep coming back because we have never had any complaints and the free coffee and continental breakfast is a bonus.

“Great location, safe with freindly and helpful staff”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 June 2010

i liked the fact that there is a security guard on duty at nighttime. Its not that its in such a bad area but it is a nice touch. The beds are really nice and the hotel is ok but getting a bit tired. For the price i wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

“Wouldn't do Park and Fly package again”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 May 2010

Have stayed at this hotel before and have always found staff very friendly and gracious. This time, I left my vehicle in the parking lot while I was away on a trip - HUGE MISTAKE! The hotel shuttle to and from the airport was great, however, I returned to the hotel to find out that someone had attempted to steal my vehicle while I was away.

My complaint isn't that the attempted theft took place - Winnipeg is undoubtedly the worst place for vehicle theft in Canada and with the bus depot being moved out to the airport, things have apparently gotten worse (at least according to the tow truck driver who towed my vehicle to the compound) for the hotels surrounding the airport and indeed, I should have known better than to leave my vehicle in their lot.

My complaint is that no one tried to contact my home or my cel phone to report to me that theft of my vehicle had been attempted. Indeed, during the security scan of the lot after the attempted theft, the security personnel shut the door of the vehicle and made sure it was secure once they realized what had happened. That being said, however, I would have appreciated a heads-up or at least the courtesy of an attempted phone call. Instead, I got a manager upon my arrival who said "I guess I could have called your home number...." and told me that the hotel could not even call the police as they would only deal with the owner.

I had indeed signed a waiver before leaving as well, but shouldn't common courtesy dictate that at least an attempt at a phone call be made to a client once the hotel realizes that something is wrong? I think their policies at the hotel should change in this regard.

That being said, the hotel offered me a free room for the night while I got things straightened out and I did get to use the room while making the police/insurance phone calls, which I appreciated. No doubt embarrassing for the hotel manager when they had to tell me that my almost new vehicle had been attempted stolen only one day after I left it at the hotel.

I don't think I'll try staying overnight in Winnipeg again - I'm only 2 hours away so next time will leave at 1 am and leave my vehicle in the secure lot at the airport./
