“What is the sense in making a reservation online?”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

About a month ago, my family and I stayed here. I had booked a suite with 2 queens online. When we checked in, I was not told that this was unavailable, they just gave us a suite with one bed. I assumed that when you book a certain room online, that it means it is available. When I questioned this, the only answer I got (and rather rudely!) was "Well, this is all we have. You can have a cot." I also filled in one of the reviews in the room and was very disappointed that I didn't even get a response. Again, I ask, what is the sense in making a reservation online if you don't get what they said was available? I won't be staying there again.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask before you go to your room!!

Not sure how the mix-up happened but it clearly should not have. There is no reason that once you have booked your room on line that we should have ever not had that particular room type available for you upon check-in. We have recently upgraded our on line booking site which should make this issue impossible for the future.

“Restaurant is very good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

We have never slept here but we've dined at their restaurant and wine bar ECHO once. It was really nice!! The service was great, the food was good and the wine really nice. For a wine bar I thought they could have had a more extended wine list but the wines they had on the list were good.
You can choose if you want to dine in the lounge area (where they have tv's hanging) or if you want to sit in the dining area (where it's more quiet).
We sat in the lounge area and it's a really nice place, great atmosphere.
Will definitely go back here.

“Great stay”

We stayed here for a hockey tournament and I was quite impressed with the hotel. Although it is an older hotel everything was very clean and the rooms had both fridges and microwaves. Our room was very close to the pool so it was a good location. The complimentary breakfasts were very good in the restaurant. Would definitely stay here again.

“weekend in Brandon”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

We book 3 rooms 2 Junior suites and a suite on the 5th floor.
All rooms were very nice and clean .
Service was very good all people we had to deal with were very friendly and helpful.
Food in the lounge was good ,room service food was uneatable ,it came cold overcook we throw it out.
Later in the evening the place turned into a complete Zoo their was yelling ,fighting ,screaming
waking up the children there was no way you could sleep. So we called the front desk and they couldn't control the situation they only had one person on security and not much one could do.
in the morning the place looked like a war zone broken glasses, plates everywhere, someone throw up in the elevator and it stayed uncleaned until we check out at noon. In my opinion mangement is dropping the ball here they are running the place understaffed and that's when things get out of hand.Would i go back I don't thing so ,the hole place is looking run down and not very well upkeep. The pool water is very cold and the pool area just looks unkept, the washroom beside the pool was very dirty and I would never let my children use it we would go back to the room. management should start to take a look at this problems.
But like I said all staff was great and that,s nice to see.unfortunately I will not be going back unless there no other place to stay in Brandon. To bad at one time this was a beautifull place.
Regards Henri

Room Tip: all junior suits are very nice

“Impressed! Perfect for us travelling with 2 little kids to see family”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 October 2011

I had low expectations due to such poor ranking on Trip Advisor, but I was very pleased with the room, the service and the price. We booked the Jr. Suite as I wanted a separate sleeping area as we were travelling with an 8 month old and 2 1/2 year old. It was perfect as the kids went to bed earlier in the room and we were able to watch tv/read until later. The sink, fridge and microwave were also put to great use. It's always nice to have a coffee maker, but the restaurant downstairs was also great for buying that AM coffee. We used a coupon to save $50 per night. It was advertised on Facebook. Even though we couldn't print it, our check in clerk was great to give us the discount without any hassles. (I'm always braced for bad service, but Duston was excellent!) The pool was a bit cool, but otherwise clean. Nice sitting area where we visited with our family who live in Brandon. Nice to have a lifeguard on duty in the evening hours too! Yes the lobby and halls were under renovation, but we weren't bothered at all. No noise. Our Jr. suite was the newer "wing" of the building. Our stay was Wed. thru Thurs. so quiet and not busy with any trade shows/or sporting tournaments. I would definitely stay here again. But would look for that $50 coupon. Our room included 2 breakfasts-another excellent addition. Only complaint is that the pillows were jumbo sized and not terribly comfortable.

Room Tip: The Jr. Suite is excellent for families. 2 queen beds. New wing of the hotel.
