“Nice property but limited service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

On the plus side, the rooms and public spaces are well designed -- the hotel looks look very much like the Four Seasons--and the lake front setting is pretty. It feels though, like the owners have have cut back in other areas to save money. The Hotel is understaffed and the staff they have are mostly young, seasonal workers without a lot of training. The rooms also lack some basics like trashcans in the bathrooms, extra towels, etc. and can be noisy. (The rooms have high ceilings, which is nice, but the walls are thin and you can hear everything happening on the floors above. In the morning it was very noisy as people were wheeling out their bags to catch an early flight.)

The location is also somewhat inconvenient. There is a shuttle, but the service can be limited. Given what they are charging and how they are positioning the hotel I would expect more.

“Great place; premium, quiet, and accessible.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

I highly recommend - stayed 4 nights. Amazing rooms - fireplace, vaulted ceiling, large, IPOD dock. Great bar/restaurant; great location; great spa; great staff. Easy short walk to Creekside where you store your skis.

Thank you for posting your review on TripAdvisor. We're delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us and more specifically our quiet location. It sounds from your description as though you were staying in one of our one bedroom suites. With only the one full king bed, they really are designed to accommodate a couple or perhaps a family with small children. Next time, if you are staying as two couples, you might try one of our two bedroom suites. They each have a lofted second bedroom, which would definitely afford more space. We look forward to welcoming you back!

“An excellent winter getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

We booked this through the "blind" last-minute deals section of whistlerblackcomb.com. I thought that staying in the village would be more convenient, but the free shuttle service the hotel offers makes it really easy to get around. The rooms are really lovely - the bathroom was fantastic, with a heated floor and huge tub. For a winter getaway, it's also really nice to have a fireplace in the room, and it made the room so cozy and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I also recommend the onsite deli for breakfast.

“A comfortable stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

I stayed 6 nights with my spouse end Jan 2012 for snowboarding. It is a present experience for us and we are looking forward to return next snow season if we are going to Whistler again!

At first we have done lots of research for accommodations as it was our first time. We were attracted by the high ranking and reasonable pricing but were still undecided until late. Main concern was transportation as it is on Creekside and going to village is inconvenient despite hotel assured us shuttle is available. It turned out it is a lot easier than I thought. We recommend to rank a car - the $20 parking fee per day is well worth it. Parking is free after 5pm in day lots of village so after-ski shopping/dining is convenient. While we were there it rains almost everyday but we do not find going from the day lots to main town centre any difficulty. Even if we have to pay before 5pm, parking is no hazard. So we enjoy the quite and spacious rooms with closy deco at reasonable price while enjoy the driving pleasure and convenience! Hotel parking is underground so keep your car dry. In and out is easy.

Hotel staff are warm and cheerful. I want to thank them for their hospitality with this note! Thank you!!

We have the 3rd floor one room lake view. The view is gorgeous! The room design is convenient and easy access to switches, fire place, bath... With free Wifi! Bath room have wooden window opened to bed room and can see outside through large glass windows. After a day of exercise, submerged yourself in a hot tub (which is quite big for our Asian size) is really relaxing! The kitchenette is sufficient for normal use with a microwave, a toaster, coffee presser, a hot water boiler and full set of cultnery for 4.

We have only tried Fix deli for breakfast so can't comment on food in general, but the Fix Deli has the best muffins I ever tried in my Whistler stay! They only opened till 4pm which is short as normally we went back to hotel after snowboard way passed it's closing time. BTW, their eggs Benedict is also lovely.

The SPA is a lowlight. I enjoy their services but due to downsizing, their menu choice is quite limited. And frankly, they are a little more pricier than I expected too. A good 90 minutes sports massage cost $160...

The hotel is well situated next to the lovely lake, and there is an old train station next to it (no worry about noise as all windows are sound proof and train is not frequent) which puts a nice character to the hotel. I will definitely consider to come back.

Thank you for including Nita in your Canadian vacation! We would be delighted to welcome you back. Our spa is currently offering a menu which includes classic treatments: massages, facials, scrubs, manicures and pedicures. If you visit us again this summer, we will have launched our new spa concept and you can expect a different offering. We look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit!
