I stayed 6 nights with my spouse end Jan 2012 for snowboarding. It is a present experience for us and we are looking forward to return next snow season if we are going to Whistler again!
At first we have done lots of research for accommodations as it was our first time. We were attracted by the high ranking and reasonable pricing but were still undecided until late. Main concern was transportation as it is on Creekside and going to village is inconvenient despite hotel assured us shuttle is available. It turned out it is a lot easier than I thought. We recommend to rank a car - the $20 parking fee per day is well worth it. Parking is free after 5pm in day lots of village so after-ski shopping/dining is convenient. While we were there it rains almost everyday but we do not find going from the day lots to main town centre any difficulty. Even if we have to pay before 5pm, parking is no hazard. So we enjoy the quite and spacious rooms with closy deco at reasonable price while enjoy the driving pleasure and convenience! Hotel parking is underground so keep your car dry. In and out is easy.
Hotel staff are warm and cheerful. I want to thank them for their hospitality with this note! Thank you!!
We have the 3rd floor one room lake view. The view is gorgeous! The room design is convenient and easy access to switches, fire place, bath... With free Wifi! Bath room have wooden window opened to bed room and can see outside through large glass windows. After a day of exercise, submerged yourself in a hot tub (which is quite big for our Asian size) is really relaxing! The kitchenette is sufficient for normal use with a microwave, a toaster, coffee presser, a hot water boiler and full set of cultnery for 4.
We have only tried Fix deli for breakfast so can't comment on food in general, but the Fix Deli has the best muffins I ever tried in my Whistler stay! They only opened till 4pm which is short as normally we went back to hotel after snowboard way passed it's closing time. BTW, their eggs Benedict is also lovely.
The SPA is a lowlight. I enjoy their services but due to downsizing, their menu choice is quite limited. And frankly, they are a little more pricier than I expected too. A good 90 minutes sports massage cost $160...
The hotel is well situated next to the lovely lake, and there is an old train station next to it (no worry about noise as all windows are sound proof and train is not frequent) which puts a nice character to the hotel. I will definitely consider to come back.
