“Comfortable condo right in the Village”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 March 2011

Tyndall is well located and within a short walk of the lifts at Whistler. We had an extended stay here and managed to get a good rate by negotiating with the property manager who was in contact with the individual owner. All the units here are individually owned and I think there are many ways to book here.
It was extremely convenient being so close to a large grocery store and the liquor store. The building is right on the Village stroll so it is mostly pedestrian traffic.
It can be noisy on the weekends with people let loose from the bars after 2am. Our unit faced the street so we were awakened by snow removal every morning but I guess that's not a bad wake-up call to get yourself onto the hill.
The bed in our unit was poor quality but adequate enough. I'm sure the interiors of each unit vary depending on the owner.
Free dedicated wifi was nice although there is lots of open networks in the building.
Hot-tub and pool were nice but strange that it is right beside the street and people walking by can see you between the gaps of the screens.

“Central, well appointed 2 bedroom, good get for Whistler Village.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 August 2010

My husband and my 10 year daughter and I were pleasantly surprised by this 2 bedroom condo -- a well laid out older unit nicely re-furbished. Our normal resorts are Westins and Marriotts but we love coming to Whistler once a year and use an older timeshare we have to find a place.

Bedrooms were small, one with a queen bed and the other with 2 twins, no room for dressers. Good sized closets that worked for us because they had some mobile metal basket units. Mattresses okay (not the Westin's heavenly bed by a long shot but not too bad on the back). Agree with other reviews on lack of storage space especially if 4 or more adults sharing the unit. 2 bathrooms, both nicely appointed with lots of towels. Living room furniture nice and well laid out. Flat screen TVs in living room and master bedroom. Nice sized balacony, better on the end units. Kitchen was well equiped though appliances were older. In-suite laundry definitely nice.

The only real draw back was the air conditioning --- an old portable that barely blew luke warm air and made so much noise it was hardly worth turning it on. Luckily it wasn't too warm and there were lots of fans so we were able to manage the temperature well even on the couple of days of 26 degree celsius weather.

No barbecue and the "swimming" pool is an oversized hot tub, good for the kids to dip in and nothing else. No chairs around it either -- probaby because there isn't room. We were happy with Alta Lake and the public pool.

Overall, for Whister and the cost of staying here, we were generally pleased. Location in the Village allowed us to basically park the car and bike or walk every where. Construction noise from across the street was a drawback especially if you are noise adverse.

“Convenient, central, and practical--Tyndall Stone Lodge”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2009

We stayed in a one-bedroom (no loft) unit #220 reserved through Whistler Retreats. Tyndall Stone Lodge is a non-descript property, with individually-owned units, and no staffed front desk. The location was central and convenient, between the heart of Whistler Village and the Marketplace. This particular unit was pleasant, well-maintained, and had all the appliances and items we needed, though it felt a lot smaller than its advertised size of 900 sq. feet, and the bed was very firm. Note that there is construction for the 2010 Olympics going on right behind the Tyndall Stone Lodge, but it could not be heard or seen from this side of the building. Off-season rates were reasonable. Free parking and free worldwide long distance calls were a nice bonus. Whistler is a great destination, and we were happy we chose to stay here.

“Summer Stay at Tyndall”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 June 2009

Just returned from a one-week stay at Tyndall Stone Lodge -We booked a 2-bedroom through RCI Points exchange - Checked in across the street at Whiski Jacks main office - Arrived at 1PM but could not check in to 330 because the unit was not ready - Fair enough -It did state a 4PM check in time -- Location is great - It was summer so the 10 minute walk to the lifts was not a factor - It was nice being right in the village and near the marketplace - our unit was on the second floor - so not a loft unit - nice 2 bedroom unit with washer/dryer and diswasher (no bbq)-free highchair and playpen crib- There is no maid service at all or garbage pickup- All long distance calls are FREE - was amazed by that - 2 TVs -one flat screen and one mounted in the bedroom, decent balcony - the units are all privately owned-luck of the draw which one you may get- Our balcony overlooked the village stroll and the lot they are building the 2010 celebration park - with the windows closed you could barely hear the machines going - unit 203 had a window air condioner - too small for the size of the unit - luckily it wasnt that hot - the unit is directly above le Chateau-the pool was small but good for us with a 4 year old - kept warm and clean-lots of construction going on in the town but nothing that was too agrivating - Did the sightseeing Peak 2 Peak chair - great way to spend a sunny afternoon - Beaches at Lost Lake and Alta Lake are great in the summer as well - Parking stalls are too small and hard to get into - Whistler is a great place in the summer

“A home away from home”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 April 2009

We were in Whistler for a conference, with 5 of us staying in the two bedroom unit 217 booked through allura direct. I had fantastic communication with the owners - both in response to my enquiry before booking and then regarding access to the unit. On top of this they phoned after our arrival to check we were OK. We had a wonderful stay. The directions to access the unit were clear and we had no trouble getting in. We were delighted to find the unit exactly as described and pictured (not always the case when booking over the internet!). Only thing to note was relatively little floor space in the second bedroom (set up as 2 twin beds), but there was a double wardrobe, and bathroom was huge. We thoroughly enjoyed being able to cook meals and then eat together rather than having to spend much more money in a noisy crowded restaurant. The unit was handily located on the Village Stroll close to the largest supermarket, in a quiet section as we had no trouble with rowdy people stumbling back home disturbing our sleep. I look forward to booking with them again should I be back in the area!
