“Good location, but would be nice to be able to take hot shower”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

Good location, close to Gondola and food services. Pillow stinks and very uncomfortable, I had to wrap the pillow with a couple of towels in order to be able to sleep. Lots of hot water in the sink faucet, but limited amount hot water flowing through the shower faucet, had to take warm to cold shower every single day of our stay.

“ResortQuest Lake Placid Lodge - Room 226”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 December 2011

The location is in Creekside; the check-in is 10 minutes away in the Upper Village which is past Creekside meaning a trip there to check-in and a trip back there to check out; 40 minutes of my time wasted when the Lodge has a perfectly good and unused reception.
An insuite laundry room for washer and dryer was without both; if you are thinking about staying there for a few days...don't. Resort Quest advertises "free" internet; what they don't say is that it depends on whether or not the owner of the unit has set-up Intenet and provided permission/password to use it.
Had business work to do and was told by "helpful" accommodations staff to use the local Starbucks...yea right. Sure looked like mould in the shower. The security code on our suite changed at 09:30 AM, not after check-out 10:00 AM; we were lucky that one of us was still in the room or it would have caused chaos.
Plus side - the apartment was comfy, quiet and the pool and hot tub out back well located. Ski lift is very close by.

Room Tip: if you wish simple amenities such as Internet and clothes washer/dryer don't assume they are the...

“Beware of Extra and Fraudulent Charges”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 April 2011

I stayed in room 116 with my daughter for 3 days and although the facilities overall are run down the apartment was adequate. That said at the end of the month when reviewing my credit card statement there was an additional charge of $840 on my bill (original full payment had been ($409.90). When I required with Whistler Retreats on the reason for the charge, they said that an owner had seen me bring in a dog. I have no dog! Did they call to let me know before putting the charge through? Not at All! I am disputing my charge and will follow through with a complaint with the Better Business Bureau unless I get a quick resolution

“So-so”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2010

Good-Room had great balcony, was nicely decorated with fresh paint
Pool area was nice. Free calling which was nice becuase our US cell phone carrier charged 60cents/minute.
Bad-carpet & mattresses were needed to be replaced; appliances were old.
Door to unit was not hung properly & required a lift & pull to shut. No personnel on site.
Elevators were old & one got stuck twice while we were there.
