“Great value for money”

Just came back after spending 9 nights at the Blackcomb Lodge. I have been twice to the 4 seasons before but this time was travelling with a group of friends so decided to try something different. I booked early without reading the reviews and got a bit concerned after seeing some of the comments here. If you are looking for a family holiday this might not be the best place for you. However if you are up for partying, skiing and enjoying the real Whistler this is one of the best accommodations available. Located right in the middle of all the action - Buffalo Bill's, Tommy Africa's, Maxxfisch, Moe Joe's are all within 2 min walk, the lifts are 5 min walk away, pharmacy and supermarket just right in front of it plus plenty of restaurants and fast food within a minute. It can get noisy at night as plenty of people are outside partying but you run this risk anywhere if you decide to stay in the village. We booked the studio loft, room 220. Turned out to be much more spacious than in the pictures, the room was clean, we had a flatscreen with dvd player and cable tv, free wireless, 2 balconies. We were 4 people but had friends crashing over all the time. There were 4 single beds and a double sleeping sofa - so yup, it really can sleep 6 and won't be too tight. The room cleaning service was not that great but if you asked them to do it they were on top of it. Overall I can recommend this place for group of friends who want to have fun and enjoy Whistler for less money. If you are up for romantic trip or a family holiday might be better to look at something in the Upper Village.

Thank you for taking the time to post this review. For the location and size of the rooms The Blackcomb Lodge can definitely be one of the better values in the main Whistler Village. Once you factor in the full kitchen and not having to eat out for every meal there is more savings for budget conscious travelers. We are glad to hear you had an enjoyable time while staying with us.

Thanks for choosing The Blackcomb Lodge and Whistler Premier for your Whistler accommodation needs.

Thank for taking the time to post a review of your stay at The Blackcomb Lodge. With our central location and full kitchens in every studio and studio loft suite we can definitely be one of the better values in the heart of the Whistler village.

As you mentioned there is definitely some noise associated with being in the middle of the busiest area of the village. We also suggest to those seeking a more quiet stay to request a room on the non village side of the building as this reduces the outside noise considerably. We always try to honour such requests at check-in but do suggest to call in your request as soon as possible as they are taken on a first come first serve basis.

Thanks for choosing The Blackcomb Lodge and Whistler Premier for your Whistler accommodation needs.

“Wouldn't recommend this”

While the location of the Blackomb Lodge is great, I still wouldn't return. The staff was quite friendly, but it seemed poorly run and badly maintained. The first room I had, the cable for the TV didn't work, the second night I was there, sewage started coming up and flooding the kitchen sink. When I asked (Yes, I had to ask - they didn't offer!) for another room, they gave me one with twin beds instead of a king. When I complained, the staff happily fixed the problem, but, again, I had to ask. The second room also had TV problems. The best part, though, was when a housekeeper (I'm told) left a window open in the room above mine, causing the sprinkler pipe to freeze and burst, badly flooding two of the rooms below, one of which was mine. I could go on, but I think I've painted a pretty clear picture.

Room Tip: stay somewhere else.
