“A great value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

I bought a "Groupon" for a 2 night stay at the Listel Hotel, Whistler. We were able to redeem it during high season, so enjoyed a great ski weekend a few weeks ago.
When we arrived, they checked us in quickly to a good room, and to our delight, offered us 2 alcoholic welcome beverages in the hotel's bar/restaurant, the renowned Bearfoot Bistro. They informed us that they had a continental breakfast that we could also take advantage of.
The rooms were clean and simple, yet had all the necessary amenities. The hotel was situated in such a way that it is very close to many popular bars and restaurants, yet is quiet at nighttime.

We awoke the next morning to a phenomenal continental breakfast offering, in one of the casual gathering rooms on the main level. It was a serve yourself environment, with pretty much all-you-can-eat hard boiled eggs, fruit, pastries, toast, tea and coffee.
We found this more than adequate to set out for a good day on the hill. We appreciated the quick grab option because you're not waiting around for waiters to take your order or serve your food - getting you out on the hill right away. I found this to be a tremendous value, as I have stayed at many hotels in Whistler where you would pay up to $25 per person for exactly what was offered here.

This is not a 5 star resort hotel, so we did not expect to have this type of experience. We felt that we received very good value for what we paid, and would return again when budget is a consideration.

“Disappointed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

I was not able to go due to an unexpected surgery but the hotel refused to refund. They offered a change of date but I am not sure if we will be able to go within the time lines they specified. I called also myself and talked to a manager but he was not willing to accommodate.

“Functional Hotel in Amazing Whistler”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

The hotel is located in the hearth of the village, but just slightly offset from the main street so you don’t hear the drunk people yelling in the middle of the night. It is so close to the slopes that you can walk straight to the lifts. You can also easily come back for lunch or for a rest in the middle of the day.

I stayed in a junior suite. It was big enough and clean. It has all the necessary equipment that you would expect in a mid-range hotel. The price was fair for the area. However, the underground parking is charged. The temperature of the hot tub was a little bit cold.

Overall, it is a functional hotel in the middle of one of the best playground of the world.

“A good value for what it is.”

The location of this hotel is extremely convenient to the Whistler lifts and for what we paid a very good value. (Hint: arrange room and lift tickets through central reservations.) The rooms themselves are standard motel fare and a bit dog eared, but what can you expect when all the guests have wet ski gear. The place is not that peaceful in the AM with everyone stomping around in ski boots. The continental breakfasts are a bit disorganized and will leave you thinking about eating out. The Hotel staff however are first rate; very freindly & helpful. We did enjoy our stay.
