I bought a "Groupon" for a 2 night stay at the Listel Hotel, Whistler. We were able to redeem it during high season, so enjoyed a great ski weekend a few weeks ago.
When we arrived, they checked us in quickly to a good room, and to our delight, offered us 2 alcoholic welcome beverages in the hotel's bar/restaurant, the renowned Bearfoot Bistro. They informed us that they had a continental breakfast that we could also take advantage of.
The rooms were clean and simple, yet had all the necessary amenities. The hotel was situated in such a way that it is very close to many popular bars and restaurants, yet is quiet at nighttime.
We awoke the next morning to a phenomenal continental breakfast offering, in one of the casual gathering rooms on the main level. It was a serve yourself environment, with pretty much all-you-can-eat hard boiled eggs, fruit, pastries, toast, tea and coffee.
We found this more than adequate to set out for a good day on the hill. We appreciated the quick grab option because you're not waiting around for waiters to take your order or serve your food - getting you out on the hill right away. I found this to be a tremendous value, as I have stayed at many hotels in Whistler where you would pay up to $25 per person for exactly what was offered here.
This is not a 5 star resort hotel, so we did not expect to have this type of experience. We felt that we received very good value for what we paid, and would return again when budget is a consideration.
