Friendly staff, excellent facilities and room (studio), close to main ski lifts, quiet room, small supermarket very close by, restaurants and sports shop in same building.
The only down side was the cost which along with lift passes and meals out was about twice that for similar in Zermatt, Switzerland. The exchange rate is against us at present.

The location and value are definitely the 2 pro for this hotel. It's literally 100 meters from the chairlift from Blackcomb mountain Wizard chairlift. And RRP is about $200 per night during the absolute peak season. we stayed there between Xmas and New year.

The room is reasonably clean, concierge is quite helpful, even gave us free washing powder.

The con side is the room can be a bit noisy in the morning. We can hear people walking in the corridor or even next door when the kids woke up.

The bottom line is if you want to have a low cost on-the-mountain experience with reasonably price, this is probably what you are looking for.

Glacier Lodge...the only good thing about this "Hotel" or whatever it wants to call itself was the location. It is at the foot of Blackcomb Mtn and near the Day Lodge where we rented our skiis. Since the Day Lodge let's you store your rented skiis, we had an easy very short walk every morning and then were on the slopes.

The good stuff ends with this. Glacier Lodge is in every sense only up to par with a regular Motel. The only addition is a kitchen.

The worst about this place is the service. The personnel is not very attentive. Rooms get only cleaned on the 4th day of a week, which means you have to stay over a week to get cleaning at all. On top of this poor system, they did not even get that right. After the 5th day without cleaning, I had to make three requests. Even in this case they did not vacuum the floor, but mainly folded the bed sheets, changed towels and emptied the trash.

In sum, you are paying for a place to crash near the slopes.

With this review I am also notifying Whistler Blackcomb that they should re-evaluate their rating of this establishment. At the moment it is highly misleading and not accurate, which, aside from creating ethical issues, also poses legal problems, if someone were to make an official complaint with consumer protection agencies, fair trade commissions, etc.
