The proximity to the ski slope is incredible. The outdoor pools are amazing. The VIDA Spa inside the Chateau has everything you need to be pampered. The Wildflower Restaurant is superb. Rooms are elegant and adequate.
The Old-style Bar and Lounge is lovely with open fire hearths and comfortable seating for the whole family. Don't miss their High Tea which is available most of the day, as it is out-of-this-world!
My only disappointment: the Server in the Lounge did not bother to look for bagels when we asked for a platter of salmon, creamed cheese and fresh bagels. She merely informed us that bagels were unavailable in the evening.
What? A world-class resort hotel and you don't have bagels? Are you serious?
I had a good mind to write to the Food and Beverage Manager to let them know that they had disappointed a prestigious author from New York who just happens to love bagels and cream cheese.

Staying at the Chateau Whistler is a real pleasure. The service is outstanding, the public spaces are beautiful. It has the best pool and hot tub area you can find. I don't understand the comments about the outdated rooms. I have stayed there twice and find the furnishing appropriate for the tradtional style. Can't complain about a bathroom with a tub and separate shower. We ate dinner in the Mallard Lounge and found it very satisfactory, yes a bit pricey, but the ambiance is terrific.
We had to call for service a few times and before the phone was hung up someone was at our door. The ski room is so efficient and comfortable. Great experience.
