On the bright side, I'd give this very good marks for convenient location as it is right in the village; (however, that does mean that if you get any snow, you're awakened VERY early every morning by snow clearing equipment outside your window for 90 minutes, backing up with the loud safety beeping). Not the hotel's fault - just a point of interest. This hotel has a very awkward layout and to get to our room, we had to go through three sets of locked doors, not including our room door and the electronic pass card is not an easy reader, requiring several tries each time for all of us. If you had anything in your hands, such as groceries, it was a bigger pain. Also the staff gave us directions to our room without even paying attention to the fact we had a large luggage cart filled to the top and sent us along a route that had stairs. It was very awkward trying to get the rolling rack through the various doors to begin with and we discovered afterwards that there was another route we could have taken (longer but with an elevator) . The TV's remote control didn't work and the maintenance person who was supposed to come up and fix it "in 5 minutes" never did arrive, we had to get a new internet cord as the existing one didn't work, the cleaning staff didn't speak English, and the room was not as nice as I've come to enjoy Whistler accommodation. Just an awkward layout - nice fireplace in the room but not a lamp to read, just teeny spotlights on the artwork. The table sat only 3, which seemed odd with a 2 bedroom with a full kitchen. We ended up with bunkbeds in the second bedroom because they couldn't find our reservation & that's all that was left. I could even go on more but suffice to say we won't be returning to the Holiday Inn in Whistler. This was a combined family & business trip.
