We can confirm all previous comments about the comfort of those beds and my husband and I definitely enjoyed three good nights of rest in the very pleasant Wedgewood room. This alone would have been worth the very reasonable room rates but then you get to the breakfasts! Four courses (and they do mean four) kept us full until dinner time, although throughout the day we did sneak a few of the wonderful home-baked breakfast goodies which Paulanne provides (they were just too tempting!) Beds and baked goodies were not the least of our delights, however. Paulanne and David catered beautifully to my husband's gluten sensitivity: gluten-free sausage; wheat-free cereals; crustless quiche; french toast and oh those home-made muffins. Our fellow guests also sampled these delights and enjoyed some of them so much they bagged up some of his special gluten free goodies for their own afternoon snacks--they were that good! Paulanne even generously shared some of her recipes with us so I can attempt to treat my husband as well as she and David did! If you have food sensitivities and are looking for a good B&B alternative in Victoria, Ashcroft comes with our hightest recommendation.
