When we walked in the front door the first thing we noticed was the dirty carpet and it got worse from there. The furniture looked like it had been purchased at a garage sale. No two items were the same. A folding table was used for a desk, there were two different types of chairs, etc. The kitchen floor was sticky. But worst of all were the spiders and insects that crawled out into the bathroom during the night from a hole between the bathtub and the wall. I killed the biggest spider I have ever seen. If you can't find a motel room, sleep in your car!

The owner was kind, welcoming and helpful.
The room was very basic, but was all we needed.
Really liked that it was quiet, and affordable.
We will be staying again.

The kitchenette was quite big but rather dirty. Cupboards hadn't been cleaned and nor had a lot of cutlery. Cobwebs in the bathroom and the water smelled funny, though we are still alive! The sofa was old and uncomfortable and you could here the main road a few feet below. However, handy for both town and ferries/airport and there was TV in unit. We'd stayed at better places for cheaper price.

I've wanted to write in because before I went to the Cherry Tree Inn, I read these reviews online and the latest one 'Epic Fail' really scared me about staying at this place. Well I had a triathlon at Elk Lake, so it was the closest hotel and cheapest to stay at and wanted to take the risk!

Well, I was pleasantly surprised! The owners are so warm and welcoming and the room was adorable! I was expecting outdated and moldy, but I found it to be pleasant and updated! The room was simple, the location was quiet, it was perfect! We even had a little outdoor seating area. The only one thing that wasn't great was the shower is very small but manageable.

When I needed coffee, she brought coffee. When I needed silverware, she brought it too. Everything I asked for, she provided and always with a smile. We were even able to check out late because I had my triathlon and couldn't get back in time. They were very accommodating.

So if you want to board simply, with good service and for a great price near Victoria, this is your place to go!
