We stayed here for two nights the first week in August. The rooms, furniture, and fixtures are a bit worn - but everything in our room was very clean. We stayed in a mini-suite, which had a "kitchenette" included. We didn't use it much, but the room was same price (about $100 US per night) as a regular room so we went for it. The refrigerator was spotless, and there was also a microwave, coffee maker, basic dishes, silverware, cookware and utensils. If I had known that it had the cookware, I probably would have brought some food with us to save money. There is no continental breakfast here - also just something to keep in mind, but not a negative for the hotel.
Also included in the room was an ironing board and iron and a small hair dryer. There were ample towels and pillows for two - but if you have more people, you might want more. In addition to the queen bed, there was also a fold-out bed/sofa, a small table with two chairs, a desk with another chair, an air conditioner (smaller unit - didn't get the room cold but kept it very comfortable), a tv, a dresser that had a couple of helpful guide books. The shower has a dispenser with shampoo/conditioner/shower gel - which is a great idea - but maybe something to be aware of if you were counting on having little individual bottles.
We found the bed to be very comfortable, and the curtains were great at keeping the light out - we slept late both days, which we never do in hotels. I did also try the pool one morning (it's open 8a-9pm I think) and the facilities there were very clean as well. The pool is on the deep side if you have small children - 3ft - 5ft - 9ft. But the water in the pool was clean - I didn't see any junk floating in it at all - and the temperature was very nice. There's also a small fitness room by the pool - and those are the only "onlookers" you will have if you are swimming. The pool area is in its own room, so you don't have to worry about random people walking by and peering in at you. On the downside, there's no sunlight coming into the room but that was fine with me.
It wasn't as close to downtown as I would have liked - there isn't much to "walk to" nearby, but there is a bus stop about a block away. The front desk staff were also able to provide us with small currency exchange, which was great.
There is also a bar in the hotel. My boyfriend had the wings there and said they were the best and the cheapest wings (25-cents each) he's ever had - and he's had a lot of wings! The bartender was friendly, and the bar is no frills - they don't do anything "fancy" - but everything is very reasonably priced.
