“Very comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

Stayed here with my family over the summer and had a one bedroom suite. Upon arrival while waiting to check in, I noticed that one of the clients must have had some sort of billing issue and was discussing it with the front desk. It took quite awhile and people were starting to line up behind me but the associate remained patient and professional and I could hear that she offered to not charge the client for this room, to which he was surprised and was very thankful for their gesture. Definitely a good sign for our stay! Soon another associate arrived to help with the check-ins and we were on our way to our room. The room was quite spacious, in good condition and was clean. All appeared to be in good order and everything in the kitchen (full kitchen which was a bonus) as well as the bathroom were working properly. The staff that we encountered throughout our stay were friendly and polite. We like the fact that the hotel is close to the water and within walking distance to many attractions. The only slight negative was the sofabed was quite soft and creaky and I left with a bit of a sore back after sleeping on it for 2 nights, but otherwise it was a very pleasant stay for our family (including 2 toddlers) and we would certainly stay here again. Overall a very good value for our trip.

Dear 604bob,

Thank you very much for your kind words. Guest satisfaction is something that matters very much to us at Executive House, so it's great to hear you had great interactions with our staff. I agree with you; our location in relation to the sights of Victoria is one of our best features! We're glad you felt we offered you and your family good value, and we do apologize for the sofa bed not being quite comfortable enough - personally, I've yet to find a sofa bed anywhere that I'd want to call 'my own' for an extended period :)

Thanks again, and we hope you come visit us again soon!

Sincerely,
Eric Douglas - Sales Team Coordinator

“Terrific Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2012

This was our first stay at the Executive House, but hopefully not our last. The only minor complaint I could have is that we found it somewhat difficult to find the hotel entrance and parking, but that has much to do with our GPS. Location was great - close to everything you could possibly need. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly and gave us some great restaurant suggestions. We booked a one bedroom suite, which was very large and clean. I can even say that the pull out sofa is one of the more comfortable i've experienced, having slept on it for 2 nights :)

Room Tip: The one bedroom suites are definately worth the extra money

Dear ItsAKatAttack,

First off - great Trip Advisor Handle! Second, thanks for your honest review. We empathize with you completely on the difficulty finding the lobby. Given our location on a triangular wedge bordered by three streets, online maps and GPS alike have a real tough time pinpointing us. Trip Advisor itself puts us 4 blocks north on Douglas St! I've made it my personal mission to fix this situation, but it's a slow process.

We're glad you found our staff helpful and friendly, and that the suite was to your liking. All the best, merci beaucoup, and we hope you choose Executive House for your next stay in Victoria.

Sincerely,
Eric Douglas - Sales Team Coordinator

“Terrific place to stay.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

We have stopped over in Victoria several times previously, and always used the Executive House Hotel. It is very convenient for the seaplane terminal and, as we found out on an earlier trip, fairly close to the train station, in both cases just a short taxi ride. At other times we have driven ourselves there and we found that there is adequate undercover parking. The front desk staff have always been very helpful, pleasant and knowledgeable, on two occasions they have upgraded our rooms to a suite without any urging on our part.
The restaurant is first class, although we never found it very well attended, it appears that the hotel is hiding its restaurant under a bushel, fortunate for those who know, and unfortunate for those who don't. The menu caters well for virtually every taste, and they serve a great fillet steak, it is always our favourite, and we have never been let down. We have occasionally invited some of our family, who live on Vancouver Island, to eat in the hotel restaurant with us, they too have never been disappointed. The breakfast, while nothing special, is tasty, well cooked and filling, and it is served in comfortable surroundings by attentive staff.
The rooms have always been very clean and the sound proofing is excellent. The various suites that we have been allotted have been spacious and they all had pleasant views over the city.
The beds are comfortable and the linen was always spotless. We will always chose this hotel when stopping over in Victoria, in fact we will probably deliberately stop over there while we are en route to the family who are living further north on the island, just to feel pampered and to indulge in a great meal at a superb restaurant!

Dear Dave_C4,

Thank you very much for your thorough review of Executive House! Great to garner such wide-ranging feedback. Also, thanks for your kind words about our restaurant (I'm guessing you are referring to Barkley's Steakhouse).

We appreciate your review, and look forward to your next visit with us.

“Really nice hotel, close to everything.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2011

My spouse and I stayed for three nights using the Fall three night special - which made this very nice hotel quite affordable. We were impressed with the size of the room as well as the appointments. A good size living room, adequate bedroom with two twins pushed together (nice fluffy duvets), a tiny but well equipped kitchen and a sizeable bathroom. Only 'con' was even though we turned the heat way down - the room was still quite warm. Pros included - windows opened (both in the living room and in the bedroom), great amenities, warm bathroom tiled floor! Also, a big basket of umbrellas available to take out and about with us. They were needed!! This hotel is close to many tourist venues, including the harbour, the Imax, and many good restaurants and pubs. I'll be happy to stay there again.
