We were pleasantly surprise by our lovely view and the little kitchenette attached to our room. All staff we met, cleaning staff, breakfast staff, front desk....were so very friendly and knowledgeable. We will be back.

My husband and I travelled from Alberta by plane and arrived late in the evening. We were greeted by some of the friendliest staff I have ever encountered. Suggestions for supper nearby were on the mark and our room was clean and comfortable. I say this in particular, because our holiday was marred by unseasonably inclement weather, including snow. This forced us to spend more time in the room than we intended but the cheery face of our breakfast bar girl, Stephanie, each morning more than made up for our disappointment in being able to get out. No matter when we wandered down to the lobby, there was always hot chocolate or coffee available and a nice chat with whomever was on the desk. We have stayed in the area before at other accommodations and certainly were pleased with the choices but never greeted so warmly or made to feel at home as we were here. Will definitely return!

Nice location, nice hotel, but...

They use bulk soap and shampoo dispensers in the showers - no little bottles available. That would be ok IF they were filled. I was in the shower and found out only after I was wet that the dispensers for both the shampoo and conditioner were empty !@!@!!!! Not many options when you're already in the shower!!

When I mentioned this to the front desk clerk, I was told that they used that system for 'enviromental reasons'. I asked why then did they not check them and refill as necessary BEFORE a new guest checks in. She replied that they needed to be completely empty before they could be changed. So if you happen to be the poor sap who is standing wet in the shower with no shampoo to use, I guess you are out of luck.

They knocked 10% off the bill, but that didn't get my hair washed!!

In spite of my complaint, no one from the hotel followed up with me. They probably will now that I've posted this.

The room was very nice - roomy and comfortable. The view was good this time of year because all the trees were bare. The location is great - so close to the ferry. But - the wondrous thing about our stay was the staff, and their accommodation to our schedule. We arrived on the early ferry - at the hotel by shortly after 10 A.M., and they had our room ready!!!! Each suggestion they gave us for food or route turned out to be right on. The next day, our ferry was not to leave until 4 P.M. Check out is noon - but they extended our check out time, and then did everything possible to make us comfortable in the lobby (comfy seating, checking to see if they could improve our stay in any way, drinks etc.) when we returned from another foray around the city and still had an hour before boarding. Kudos to the staff. They really made a difference!
