“WAY to expensive! Worth... maybe $85.00 a night.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

$250.00 for the suite, add an extra $50.00 for the dog (outrageous!) for the grand total of $300.00 for a suite that is worth, $85.00 (maybe)
This place is old. As soon as you open the door a waft of mould and stale air greets you.
The glue down tiles in the bathroom are coming up.
The handle of the bathtub was/is broken.
Taking a soak in the tub is awesome, taking a shower is terrible, unless you like the cold, wet shower curtain clinging to you.
I spilled water out of the tub getting out, so I cleaned it up with a towel, what a dirt on the towel, disgusting!
The sofa needs to cleaned, actually make that replaced.
It is located in the middle of a residential area, no night life besides the brew pub.
You need to drive to get anywhere to explore Victoria. (Very out of the way)
Was not impressed with the service at all. The girls need to take a lesson in how "not to make the customer wait" while they are discussing their life.
Old coffee grounds in the coffee machine.
Did I mention the $50.00 for the dog?....(still recovering from that one!)

“Great value!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

Great place to stay! So many extras! We booked the winter package which included a 3-course meal for two at the restaurant. The food was amazing, bedroom cozy and jacuzzi bathtub perfect. We will recommend this guesthouse to all of our friends!

“Lovely open room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

I have wanted to stay at Spinnakers for quite a while. I have been a frequent visitor to the pub and always appreciated the high standards they brought to the beer they brewed on site and their support of local food producers. I was keen to see how they translated such discriminating taste in the context of their guest house. I stayed in their front room which was open, spacious and thoughtfully decorated and came complete with fireplace and a few pieces of wood to burn.

Though the room is not in downtown Victoria it is a short brisk walk to town but as Spinnakers is a favourite spot to visit it was worth it to spend a night there. Not to mention it is worth it to see the inner harbour from a slightly different perspective.

For some reason the Wifi wouldn't work for me, which was a little inconvenient. I brought it to the hotel's attention but I had no luck with it at all. The breakfast provided was, as others have noted, very pleasant. This would be a lovely place to stay for a nice romantic weekend, but I found it a little difficult to work in my room.

“cozy & friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 December 2011

We had a really nice time. Room #5 was cozy and warm, with all the necessary amenities -- nice big bath! Staff was really great. The food in the restaurant was all very good and interesting, and adventurous without being weird. The beer and truffle tasting flight was nice (truffles were great, I'm not much of a beer drinker). We didn't buy any goodies in the little store but there were some great looking things and all local (fresh cheeses of different kinds, truffles, goat cheeses, cookies, beer from on site, etc. -- I know I must be missing a bunch of things -- suffice it to say you definitely don't need to bring your own snacks!). I'd recommend it and I'll definitely go back.

Room Tip: Room 5 has a little bit of a view and a 'breakfast deck' that you have to climb out a large...

“Perfection without compromise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2011

From the salt on the french fries to the soaps in the washrooms, this place is dedicated to keeping it as local as possible while providing a world class lodging experience! extremely friendly staff and amazingly comfortable rooms. When in Victoria i will stay nowhere else. Also they brew their own beer and vinegars, bake their on pastries and bread, and make their own chocolates. What else can i say.
