I stayed here with my partner during June 2010 in the English Bay room for 14 nights. The host Jenny was always very helpful and we saw her most mornings during breakfast (cooked by her mother). There was always plenty on offer for breakfast, and we quickly grew used to being full to the brim until lunchtime.
The B&B is situated next to Arbutus St. where the #16 bus service runs straight to Downtown Vancouver within 15 mins. Assuming you arrive into YVR (Vancouver Airport) the B&B can be simply reached on the Canada Line SkyTrain and then the #25 Bus in roughly 30 mins. The public transport system deserves a quick mention as it is both cheap and covers Greater Vancouver very comprehensively (also integrated into Google Maps, so that Google can do all the route planning and timing for you!)
The room itself was quite large given it was the smaller of the two on offer, the bathroom was more than adequate, with a fantastic shower. The room came with a TV connected to the basic Shaw cable service (which we found great for watching CSI during our downtime - it seemed to be always on at least one channel!) There was also free access to broadband via ethernet (cable provided in one of the drawers) or wireless (though the signal strength was a little low in the English Bay room), and the speed was fine.
One of the great pleasures of a B&B versus a faceless hotel is that you get the opportunity to speak to other guests over breakfast. During our time we met plenty of others, some English, Belgian, Canadian, Australian and Swiss during our time there and everyone had some interesting story to tell and recommendations to give.
We found the B&B great for our 14 days in Vancouver and would definitely return if we get the opportunity to. Thanks Jenny!
