Just reading these reviews and felt I just had to write- I have stayed here twice in the penthouse suites and would stay each and very time we visit Van. The location is great, views to die for and we have stayed on the Georgia side with no noise at all. Maybe we were too high, I don't know. We have stayed as a family of 4 and there was lots of room for us all and the 3 men are over 6'5" so space is an issue!. Internet, cable, cleaning all great. I cannot fault here. I have also stayed at the Fairmont, and the feel of here is so much more like being a local and having a condo here. They were flexible with us on travel dates changing at last minute also.

Once again we chose this hotel on our 8 day visit to Vancouver and it did not disappoint at all. The staff were extremely helpful, the breakfast was good, things kept getting replenished and nothing ran out. We love the suites and chose a suite overlooking the harbour, It is so close to Stanley Park, lost lagoon etc, also so convenient for the shops and the excellent supermarket
nearby, we really cannot fault this hotel at all. If ever I am lucky enough visit Vancouver again this will be where I will be staying. We would recommend it to all our friends

My wife and I were recently visiting the lovely Vancouver and made reservations for the Lord Stanley Suites.
Having read some not so nice reviews we were skepticle at first but decided to give it a shot...and we're so glad we did!!
The hotel is situated so close to Stanley Park that we could hear the ducks ;-)
As for the suites, well they are cozy for sure...not sure if they would be suitable for more than two people ( which we were )so it was fine, the internet was very slow though and the telephones were a little dodgy ( worked sometimes...Concierge said they were in midst of being replaced so we gave the benefit of the doubt)
Speaking of the Concierge there, David was his name and this gentleman was AMAZING!
We weren't sure of the city and the things "Vancouverites enjoy" but David let us know IN DETAIL what and where to be,
His personality and attention to ourselves as well as other guests we saw him dealing with was unbelievable...a real draw to coming back to this hotel for sure!
The rest of the staff were also quite friendly but David definitely made an impresssion.
There aren't too many extra's with the hotel, a small gym and average continental breakfast are a part of the rate...but the breakfast isn't much on variety.
Still our stay was more than adequate and we look forword to visiting your lovely city again.

I was slightly worried reading some of the reviews but decided to go for it based on the majority reviews, and the price. Also we were only looking for a base to stay so internet, phone, gym, breakfast etc were not issues for us. We found the staff to be very welcoming, helpful and really put themselves out to help us. The lifts worked fine, and the suite was perfectly well furnished and comfortable. we did not use the a/c unit, even tho' we closed the windows at night - there was traffic noise - but this is a city ! there was no hooting or sirens unlike say NYC. The room was serviced every day, and very well cleaned and equipped. Excellent Safeway nearby and good choice of restaurants too. Bus services and nearly in Stanley Park. I could not say it was luxurious or hugely spacious, but it was fine for us. we would recommend it.
