We stayed at Club Intrawest the 4th of July weekend with our toddler baby in a one bedroom on the 28th floor. The club occupies the top 3 floors of the Sheraton Wall Center building and is part of a 3 high-rise development, a hotel, a condo, and a condo/hotel building. The check in process was somewhat confusing although I read about it in advance yet managed to get confused as well. You need to check in at the Sheraton hotel south tower, while the units are in the north tower.
Once checked in by the hotel, the Intrawest Club manager came to our place and introduced himself to us. They have a concierge office available for the guest, which was very very helpful. Free internet and access to a computer. So no need to bring yours along unless you want it. The units have free internet access.
OK, so the view as you read in the other reviews is simply a killer. Each unit has binoculars so you can see into the distance. Your view (depending on the side your unit is) could be anywhere from the sky slopes to the harbor and North Vancouver to Granville Island. Don't worry too much about the unit side because the views are equally great wherever you end up at. Really. The unit is very well furnished and finished, with all amentias. It has a fridge but no freezer (so no ice cream for you). It has a microwave but no oven cook top (so no boiled eggs for you). It has a dishwasher but no washer or dryer. If you have kids, it does NOT have a dining table but a high bar counter top instead, which is fine but not very ideal with kids. However this is NOT reason not to stay there. Just ask for a high chair and see if they would get you one. We asked for a baby crib and got a nice clean one right away. The room is large enough to put that crib in it. Again this was a one-bedroom apartment with a huge bathroom.
Guests have a free access to the spa and gym and work out equipment so as to the pool and sauna and steam room and Jacuzzi. The pool is an indoor pool but has huge operable windows. It is not the nicest I have seen but good enough.
The Fresh Market is 1 block away from the hotel. It has everything you need EXCEPT for alcoholic products. You can get that from the wine store across the street.
The building is centrally located within 10-15 minute walking to distance to pretty much anywhere you need to be. Taxis are ample and so as public transportation. The hop-on-and-off city tour bus stops in front of the hotel building and for $38 you can get a 2-day pass to see the entire city. NO NEED FOR A CAR unless you are a lazy person. Also the Aqua Bus that takes you across each side of the water front is awesome, fun and cheep.
Before I forget, the building lobby has one of a million Starbucks cafe, a nice hotel bar, a nice hotel breakfast area, and a little gift shop. So you are really all set.
The one drawback next to the check in confusing process is that they do NOT have daily cleaning services as condo/hotels typically do. You have to stay there for 5 day to get one cleaning service. Also they do not have trash chutes in Canada so you have to take your trash down yourself unless you call the hotel to come and pick it up.
I would stay there in a heartbeat considering the rate for what you get vs. stuffing yourself in a hotel room.
