“Outstanding customer service!”

My group of friends are here in Vancouver for a few nights and we got a good price on the room here at Ramada Inn and Suites. As you check in, they take a security deposit and so we then went up to check our rooms out and get ready to see the city. Later in the evening I decided to check my online banking statements and I saw that the man checking us in accidently with held the security deposit twice. At the time I was quite annoyed and went down there hoping they would be understanding. I was right away greeted with big smiles and they could not have been more helpful. For a busy friday night Mihaela Birzan (The manager) was so kind and understanding about the entire situation. She got on the phone and talked to my bank and cleared everything up. It was an honest mistake and I just really appreciate how great she was in this incident. I will come back because of her and will tell my friends about this hotel. Plus, the location could not be better! This hotel has a great staff, and the manager is the reason for our return Thanks so much Ramada!

“strategic location but......”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

I stayed in this inn for 3 weeks. But the linen were replaced only 3 times and the carpet was not vacuumed, I did not know if this was the policy of the management or the problem of the room-service unit. Located in Granville street was so strategic as easy to reach buses, unfortunately there were many beggars and drunk people around the inn as there were so many bars n pubs, which I did not know when booked it through internet. Even on New Year Eve, the drunk residents of opposite room made noise and pounded my room's door that made us (me and my sons) scared, fortunately I used double-locked on the door.

Room Tip: better always use double-locked your room's door

“Honest review - I hope”

I have just returned to the UK having spent 12 days at this hotel == photos can lie - unfortunately. My journey went as follows -- arrived at YVR airport - I recommend the use of the Canada Line Sky train which is up the escalators opposite the airport exit - $8 dollars gets you to downtown Vancouver == Granville Street is extremely long and the hotel is located a good way from Waterfront == which is the station I accidentally went to and then had to walk about 8 blocks. The further up Granville Street you go'the cosmopolitan' Vancouver depletes and you find yourself in the bygone days Granville Street. The first impression of the hotel reception was that of a 'boudoire' with its very dated decor and layout, not what we are used to seeing in modern format hotels. (in this area there is the Holliday Inn and Best Western) (Incidentally this hotel is supposed to have been extensively refurbished in recent times ) The reception is exposed to the street by a huge glass window. The reception staff booked me in and because of the disappointed look on my face they upgraded me to a Queen room, which surprised me because I had in fact booked a Queen room through booking.com. The room was at the back of the Hotel and obviously no views. The layout was a proper bed (I think some rooms have flimsy put you up type beds) with settee and ensuite together with a fridge. There is no restaurant, next door is the equivilent of a pub, it s called Morrisseys - which has access from the hotel. First impressions was that of a saloon bar in a cowboys film- wooden floors, table, chairs etc. and the wallpaper looked as if it had been clawed at or perhaps they decided on one day they would redecorate but then changed their minds the next, Now I would like to say the following - cannot fault the cleanliness of the bed linen = towels and bathroom. I realised that the location of my room was good since next door is a nightclub and I was spared any disturbance. I cannot fault the staff and this includes from Manager down to the cleaning staff. The location of the hotel means that just outside is the bus stop which has all busses stopping and for a daily bus pass of $9 you can get on all transport systems for all day. Around the hotel area are the most superb shops restaurants coffee bars - in fact everything to enhance your stay. This hotel seems to offer a range of accomodation that suits - weekend away stays == contractors both short term and long term = people en route to other locations etc, But all in all the location of this hotel eventually suited my needs - but a Hilton it is not but neither is the price and on that note I close my review

came here last year with some buddies. cant believe the guy there remembered me! again rej and the foreign girl were too good to explain it. i would never get service like this back home. canadians are way nicer. lol only reason im saying this is because i felt bad listening to a lady complain to them about how busy it was outside and narrow the streets in the city were and how it made it hard to find parking anywhere their mid sized gmc yukon xl. wtf people. it made me feel ashamed how arrogant some people are! people like her make the world hate americans. nothing bad to say about this place. cant wait to be back
