“...Ugh..”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

We stayed at the Days Inn because it was near the mall. The room had a awful smell, housekeeping had no extra towels and the staff was incredibly rude. We had called to inform them we would be arriving very late and when we arrived our reservation was cancelled as a no show. When we asked for directions, again the staff didn't know. I found the staff to be incredibly incompetent and rude. The parking situation is also a nightmare, small cars only that's for sure. And the cleanliness was questionable, finding hair is always unsettling.

I am sorry that this guest had such an experience in our hotel. The only reason that we would cancel a reservation would be due to an invalid credit card. As long as your credit card is valid even if you arrive at 4am your room will still be ready for you. As this review has been posted eight months after this guest stayed with us it is kind of hard for me to get to the bottom of their issues. Should a guest have any issues with either their room or the level of service please report them promptly as we try to fix issues as soon as possible. I have never heard our staff described as rude or incompetent, I have also never heard of any issues with our ample free parking, but I would have liked to of heard of these concerns while this guest was here.

“You get what you´ve paid for”

We stayed for three nights in this hotel . It is quite far away from Vancouver Downtown .
Lots of Asian restaurants and Take Aways nearby. Spacious parking on site. Rooms are clean .
The bathroom needs refurbishment and is very small . The steps to the breakfast room in the cellar are rather steep. Not to recommend for elderly clients.
Anyway, you book Days Inn , you get similar standard everywhere, the price was okay , so no need to complain.

“One night was enough.”

I like to think I’m pretty fair with my reviews, so I’ll attempt the same with this hotel. On the plus side: Reasonable cost for being central to Vancouver, lots of food places within walking distance (MacDonalds next door) free breakfast, free wi-fi and free parking. That’s it. On the negative: Small room with a funny smell in it (we had room 226 – avoid it), our room was right on the corner by the stairs and we heard every single guest stomp up the stairs and past our door (it made the room shake), every time next door used their bathroom the plumbing honked like a sick goose with a microphone shoved down its throat, the curtains were too short and let light in, the bed closest to the outside wall was only 6 inches or so away and it seemed like people were walking right past where I was sleeping (basically it was a one queen bed room that had two squeezed into it) and the rollaway bed’s mattress was stained and disgusting (I’d never have let my son on it if I had of seen it before he went to sleep). There were other niggling things that I won’t bother mentioning, except for one – when we asked for more blankets we were told there was only one left (aside from the spare one in our room which looked suspiciously like a washed dog blanket – at least it was washed), which is pretty unimpressive in the middle of winter. As it turned out we didn’t need the extra blankets as the tiny room was like a furnace most of the night. Now having said all this, the other rooms in this hotel may have been fine, but based on room 226, I wouldn’t stay here again.

Room Tip: Stay away from room 226!!!

My apologies go out to this guest. Room #226 is in a high traffic area and with the New Year's Eve crowds in town our guests tend to be a little louder than usual - particularly for a family with small children. It was a very busy weekend and I wish that we would have had a room down the hall for you. I am glad that our location worked out for you and we hope that you enjoyed Vancouver.

We stayed for 5 days recently and we were pleasantly surprised by the amenities offered by the hotel for the price we paid. They have free parking ,free high speed wifi internet in the room and free continental breakfast. The rooms were clean and there are lot of restaurants nearby. Overall we enjoyed the stay and will highly recommend this place .

Thank you for your recommendations. We are not a high end hotel with all the fancy amenities but I do believe that we provide great value to our guests. I am glad that everything went so well for you in Vancouver and please say hello the next time that you come north of the border.

“Just ok”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 December 2011

We stayed 1 night in a queen room. There have been some updates to the hotel but they are strictly cosmetic. The floors squeaked and sagged in places. The room was clean and the location worked for us. Would I stay again? Maybe but not likely. The walls were very thin and you can hear everything in the hall way and on the street.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. I am glad that our location worked well for you. I always suggest for guests to call the hotel directly to make reservations. When you are speaking to someone in the hotel you can put in your requests such as a quiet room away from the street. A few of our rooms do face Kingsway which can be noisy if you are trying to sleep during the day.
