I like to think I’m pretty fair with my reviews, so I’ll attempt the same with this hotel. On the plus side: Reasonable cost for being central to Vancouver, lots of food places within walking distance (MacDonalds next door) free breakfast, free wi-fi and free parking. That’s it. On the negative: Small room with a funny smell in it (we had room 226 – avoid it), our room was right on the corner by the stairs and we heard every single guest stomp up the stairs and past our door (it made the room shake), every time next door used their bathroom the plumbing honked like a sick goose with a microphone shoved down its throat, the curtains were too short and let light in, the bed closest to the outside wall was only 6 inches or so away and it seemed like people were walking right past where I was sleeping (basically it was a one queen bed room that had two squeezed into it) and the rollaway bed’s mattress was stained and disgusting (I’d never have let my son on it if I had of seen it before he went to sleep). There were other niggling things that I won’t bother mentioning, except for one – when we asked for more blankets we were told there was only one left (aside from the spare one in our room which looked suspiciously like a washed dog blanket – at least it was washed), which is pretty unimpressive in the middle of winter. As it turned out we didn’t need the extra blankets as the tiny room was like a furnace most of the night. Now having said all this, the other rooms in this hotel may have been fine, but based on room 226, I wouldn’t stay here again.
Room Tip: Stay away from room 226!!!

My apologies go out to this guest. Room #226 is in a high traffic area and with the New Year's Eve crowds in town our guests tend to be a little louder than usual - particularly for a family with small children. It was a very busy weekend and I wish that we would have had a room down the hall for you. I am glad that our location worked out for you and we hope that you enjoyed Vancouver.
