Got a good deal through Hotwires surprise deals or whatever their pig in a poke hotel room booking is.

Good location, nice room, friendly staff.

Our car was ticketed in the hotel's own car park ( we were guided into the space by a member of their staff) but this was quickly and effectively dealt with once we raised this with the staff.

Good location to base yourself for a few days in Vancouver and I can highly recommend the seaane tour with the excitable Australian pilot.

Would stay here again

I'm giving them 4 stars, and that's a lot better than the 2.5 they have on Yelp It's really better than 2.5 stars, and that's coming from me...a hotelier who has high standards, and is hard to please.

The Goods:
Location, Location, Location (bars, restaurants and walking distance to the convention center)
The service- Not amazing, but better than average. Wei remembered our names the whole time (a party of 3, in different rooms)
Water Pressure
Comfortable Beds
Lots of Pillows
They're renovating their rooms..

The Bads:
The room could have been cleaner. A used pill holder (plastic with the foil things) on the back.. in the garbage
The notepad on the nightstand had been scribbled all over and the pen was missing the cap (not a biggie- but not very detail oriented)
The bathrooms are small and cramped...as a guy, it's certainly fine with me

Once this hotel completes it's renovation, it'll be a real gem in this neighborhood. It has good bones, just needs some newer finishes. I'd stay here again.

I'm writing this review from room 411...and no WiFi issues..

Very handy to transit and in the middle of Downtown. The bed was comfortable and the rooms were a good size. Staff were very good. We had a very comfortable stay in Vancouver thanks to the Holiday Inn Downtown. It was quiet and very comfortable. Only downfall was the lifts in the main lobby were very small & slow.

The hotel's pool is horrible! I almost drowned in the swimming pool! The design was very weird, not kid-friendly at all, very small space for kids to swim (3 feet). There is no gradual change from shallow to deep end (3ft/6ft/9ft), irregular curved outlines. Instead of marking it 6ft, it's marked 2m, right next to the 3ft with an irregular curved outline, when I step back I didn't realize it's already 6ft. Those that can't swim and with kids beware, watch your kids and put your floaties on before you dive in this pool. Very disappointed with this hotel, not giving any warnings or signs.
