We always like to have a weekend away for our anniversary. This year we wanted to visit a good friend in Vancouver as well, so I looked for reasonably priced B&B's. This place was a real treasure. The hostess/owner was warm, friendly and a wonderful conversationalist. Our room was cozy and very well appointed - I LOVE the mattress warmer on the extremely comfortable Queen bed!

There were all the amenities you want - fridge, fluffy towels, great shower - and a few you don't expect - like coffee/tea service with homemade cake or cookies available in the living room (and right outside your door in the a.m.); free long-distance (and International) calls on their phone; free wi-fi; and even a wide-screen TV in the room (which we never watch while on vacation, but it would make some people very happy.)

And the food...ooo, la, la! The hostess is an amazing baker - her scones were absolutely to die for...all the food is absolutely the highest quality - organic for the most part. Juices, yogurt, granola, fresh fruit, cheese, the best coffee, homemade scones/muffins/pastries...more than enough for the biggest appetite.

If you are a birder, there is a big bonus - the property is just steps from the very large Pacific Spirit park (and just a few blocks from the UBC campus) and there are some amazing birds that stop by the house's feeders - you can enjoy them while you eat your scrumptious breakfast.

We stayed at Pacific Spirit and thoroughly enjoyed the cleanliness, the helpful but not intrusive hosts, the electric "fireplace" in the room, and particularly the nice bed with good linens, pillows, and a lovely heated mattress pad. Although Bernie has recently decided to serve a continental breakfast, rather than a full-out hot "gourmet" spread, it was more than adequate and delicious. We had some break-downs of cell phone, GPS, and we needed to come to the house earlier than expected, but both hosts helped us to find what we needed and offered coffee to us immediately upon arrival. The next morning we expected some friends to meet us there, and the living room plus woodfire provided a wonderful setting for this. This B & B was one of the most satisfying I've stayed in, ever.

We decided to stay at the Pacific Spirit Guest House during the Olympics and it was the best decision we made.

This was by far the best B & B I have ever stayed in. Everything you read about the magnificent breakfasts and great hospitality in other reviews are 110% true as well.

Bernie and Peter were so generous and took amazing care of us!

The Breakfasts:
Every day we stayed there was another breakfast surprise! One day, waffles, the next day an omelette and so on.. Fresh granola with yougurt, croissants, fresh juices, fresh fruit, cheese, cold cuts… This was everyday! Not just the list from all 6 days put together. It got our day off to a great start and it was fresh, healthy and tasty! 10x better than the best hotel buffet breakfast you can think of.

The Area:
This is a very clean and very safe neighbourhood surrounded by upscale homes. Even walking here at night was not worrisome. We were only 1 bus away from downtown, would have been even quicker if we had a car with us. Great location!

They provided bus tickets if we needed them to get downtown along with an assortment of welcome goodies including Olympic chocolates and treats, tourist info and maps, adult and non-adult beverages in the mini fridge and more… it was a great start!

The bed, room and everything in it were clean, and were kept in a hotel like standard with a great home feel. Super comfortable bed!! Awesome sleep!!

The bathroom had pearl white bathrobes waiting for us, flowers, heated towels and specialty body wash and shampoos if you didn’t have your own. The bathroom was comfortable and spic and span, just the way I like it!

Please stay here. You will not regret it and it made our trip that much more special and relaxed. You will want to go back again! Enjoy!

the fresh flowers, the treys packed with goodies- to the very comfy rooms, lush bathrobes- to the fabulous breakfast- we felt so welcomed and comfortable that we want to plan on coming back, for sure.
The house is in a very quite neighborhood but yet close to everything.
