“Location, location, location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 May 2012 NEW

I've said enough about the location. The price is great considering the location and free parking. Lots of eateries with varying prices close by. Very friendly staff - one gentleman has been at the Oceanside since 1978! The suites are clean and comfortable for the most part - pull-out couch not great but I've slept on worse. They need to update their carpets and some of their furniture as well. Definitely not everyone's cup of tea but it works for me. I'll stay here again.

“GREAT LOCATION-REASONABLE RATES-FREE PARKING”

We stayed at the Oceanside last week and were very happy with the accommodation.
The place was a great find. Terrific location near English bay beach and Sanley park. There are lots of reasonably priced restaurants of all types nearby. The suites were very clean, beds very comfortable and staff was very friendly. While most of the downtown hotels charge for parking, we were surprised to get free parking. Will deffinately go back and would recommend the hotel to anyone looking for a nice reasonably priced hotel in this great city.

“Great location, not the best place EVER..it's doable.”

I’ll be quick.
Great location, great price. Downtown-walking distance. Off an awesome little street with a ton of affordable food. Free parking.
But you get what you pay for. Really simple. Semi –clean. Acceptable, I’d say. See my review of a hotel in Paris for worse.
Really friendly people.
Dated towels, kitchen dishes not cleaned well at all.
But again, remember what you pay for it.

“great location, reasonable price”

This is the second time we've stayed at the Ocanside. The location is fabulous - you can walk everywhere. Parking is included which is rare inVancouver. It's so convenient to have a kitchen and a separate bedroom as well as wifi. Excellent value.

Room Tip: Corner room is large and bright.

“Not fancy but worth the price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 March 2012

This was my first time at the Oceanside Hotel and I wasn't too sure what it was going to be like because the price was so low. When I got there, Sam the gentleman behind the counter was very friendly and helpful. He even showed me my parking spot. The furniture and carpets are a bit dated, but clean and in decent condition. The suite was very large and well laid out. The bed was very comfortable. There was very little noise all night and just about no traffic noise in the morning. The hotel is located about 1/2 a block from all kinds and types of eating establishments and 1/2 a block from English Bay and the waterfront. It is also a short distance from the Park. I couldn't have planned for a better or more enjoyable location.

There are no fancy shampoos or frills in the bathroom, but the whole suite cost far less than single bedroom in another hotel. And the parking is FREE! This is worth at least $20 a day in any other hotel/motel. Just about the only down side I could say is that the heating is steam and there is no control for it. The room was a bit warm in the evening and night so I just left a couple of windows open a bit. There is no air conditioning, but Vancouver cools off in the evening in the summer so same thing, leave the windows open a bit. I wouldn't have a problem recommending this hotel and plan to stay there again.
