We booked 6 nights at the English Bay Inn based on other reviews on TripAdvisor for our vacation in Vancouver. We are more used to staying in hotels (and had just come from a resort in Whistler) and at first wasn't sure what to make of this fancy Victorian b&b. We came to love the place. The room was comfortable (we had the top level suite), and the bed was nice and soft. What we really appreciated was the friendliness and graciousness of owner Boban and manager Greg, who were very accommodating. Kudos especially to Greg who prepared our breakfast for 4 mornings, including Eggs Benedict and bagels and cream cheese on our last morning there! The breakfasts were served at a large table with the other guests present, and each morning there was friendly and animated discussion between the guests. As for the location - wow, everything desirable was about 2 blocks away - this Inn is in a great spot. There was the beach on the west- wonderful sandy beach filled with people and swimmers, ideal for long walks morning or night. Also near was Stanley Park, the number one attraction in Vancouver; this was a great site for walking and biking and eating (don't miss the Fish House restaurant.) And there was nearby Denman St, which had all the restaurants you could possibly want (plus ATM machines, bike rentals, ice cream and yogurt, misc. stores, and even a Safeway!) All in all, the B&B was in a great neighborhood. (By the way, regarding value, parking is free here, where many hotels charge per night.)
