“Recommended in Vancouver”

My wife and I spent four nights at the English Bay Inn in early September. This B and B is located in the West end of Vancouver close to the ocean and Stanley Park. It is within walking distance of many good restaurants and a reasonable walk to catch the ferry to Granville Island. As well as its great location, it is a very comfortable. This lovely house is only one of a very few on the west side of Denman St.and is surrounded by many condos and apartment buildings, yet it was very quiet. The host Greg, is very accommodating and helpful. He has a good sense of humor and creates a convivial atmosphere at the breakfast table. The food was plentiful, very tasty and varied.

“Great start to our trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2011

We arrived very tired after a long trip from the UK to find this wonderful B&B waiting for us. It was very easy to find with private parking, a bonus in any big city. Greg made us very welcome and next day gave us a wonderful breakfast and advice about what to do etc. We would recommend this as a good value, comfortable, welcoming place with great breakfasts and in a peaceful but convenient location. Wished we had stayed longer than two days. Very highly recommended by two fussy travellers!

“Great B&B, excellent location, wonderful food, gracious hosts”

We booked 6 nights at the English Bay Inn based on other reviews on TripAdvisor for our vacation in Vancouver. We are more used to staying in hotels (and had just come from a resort in Whistler) and at first wasn't sure what to make of this fancy Victorian b&b. We came to love the place. The room was comfortable (we had the top level suite), and the bed was nice and soft. What we really appreciated was the friendliness and graciousness of owner Boban and manager Greg, who were very accommodating. Kudos especially to Greg who prepared our breakfast for 4 mornings, including Eggs Benedict and bagels and cream cheese on our last morning there! The breakfasts were served at a large table with the other guests present, and each morning there was friendly and animated discussion between the guests. As for the location - wow, everything desirable was about 2 blocks away - this Inn is in a great spot. There was the beach on the west- wonderful sandy beach filled with people and swimmers, ideal for long walks morning or night. Also near was Stanley Park, the number one attraction in Vancouver; this was a great site for walking and biking and eating (don't miss the Fish House restaurant.) And there was nearby Denman St, which had all the restaurants you could possibly want (plus ATM machines, bike rentals, ice cream and yogurt, misc. stores, and even a Safeway!) All in all, the B&B was in a great neighborhood. (By the way, regarding value, parking is free here, where many hotels charge per night.)

“We loved it so much the first time, we came back for a sequel!”

My family and I made our first trip to Vancouver in summer 2010. We stayed at the English Bay Inn and absolutely LOVED IT. I'm not one for clichés, but it truly was our home away from home. That's pretty much why we came back to this inn, the second time around (summer 2011). The manager is very hospitable, accommodating, and incredibly easy to talk to and get along with. The rooms are comfortable and welcoming, especially after a long day out in the city. The food is delectably delicious and filling. We looked forward to breakfast every morning, and it is probably the only reason why we woke up as early as we did.

All in all, it was a great stay! We had a wonderful time through and through, from "home" to the outskirts of the city. Next time we come back, we'll definitely be staying here again; and I recommend it to anyone and everyone who's looking for a great stay in Vancouver :)

“Gracious host”

We spent a week at English Bay Inn in June 2011. The inn is located in a peaceful location right next to Stanley Park and in walking distance to shops and restaurants. We walked throughout our stay there. Our host Greg was perfectly gracious and entertaining, provided us with any information we needed and prepared the most excellent breakfasts. He played a significant role in helping us feel very much at home there. Thanks, Greg.
