“This is the place to stay in Vancouver!”

A fabulous place to stay. Who knew breakfast could be so decadent? We stayed in the loft, felt like a suite in a 5 star hotel. Barb's advice for shopping and dining was helpful, she is definitely in the know and stays current. Wish we had more time to try all her dining recommendations.

Looking forward to a return visit very soon.

We’re glad you enjoyed your stay with us. Please come back soon. The B&B is decorated and ready for the holidays. Breakfast? Well, it’s becoming legendary…There are many festive events in the city, the shopping couldn’t be better, and the restaurants are outdoing themselves!

“Amazing breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 August 2011

A TreeHouse is conveniently located between the Vancouver Airport and downtown Vancouver. The hosts provide a very clean, streamlined vacation experience where you feel "right at home". If you're tired of staying in hotels, this is a great place to go. The breakfast was unreal, I don't think I've ever eaten so much for breakfast. It was home cooked by Barb and very, very healthy and tasty. You'd never get that quality for that price in a hotel. I can only recommend them very highly.

“Enjoyable and relaxing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 July 2011

Beds extremely comfortable, breakfast was nice and simple and healthy. My room opened onto the backyard which was very comfortable and relaxing. The pictures posted do not show the beautiful finished backyard.
I needed to stay another night and they were able to accommodate my request.
I only saw Barb and their student staff, but not her husband. They were all very nice and helpful when they were there. I did not see a lot of them even though I spent the entire two days at the TreeHouse. In fact I had to assist a newly arriving couple when they came to check in. They were an older couple and had some trouble following the directions left on the front door for them, including how to get in.
Plenty of guidebooks and tourist information. Kerrisdale is about a 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive away. Know that on a Sunday everything in Kerrisdale closes early, including a number of restaurants.
Note that the Farwest 1 and Farwest 2 share a bathroom.
In all it was a very relaxing time and I would go back again.

Thanks for your review. We are glad that you liked the little Asian garden with the door guardian from Bali. Our guests have enjoyed the quiet, cool, outside sitting area.
Our gourmet, organic breakfast is very popular with our guests. Some guests, like you, prefer to come to breakfast at an optional time and therefore choose to have a continental breakfast instead of the gourmet breakfast. The smaller continental breakfast includes homemade juice, a fruit platter, cereal, yogurt parfait, hard boiled eggs, cheese, and baking.
Bob regrets that he did not have an opportunity to meet you. He is quite active at A TreeHouse but less visible! Though he is very busy with his contracting and consulting business, he is working on a new website for A TreeHouse. He also does all the maintenance jobs that others can’t do. Most of our guests leave the B&B right after breakfast so our focus time in assisting our guests with sightseeing plans, restaurant choices, etc. is right after breakfast. I remember that you had had quite a stressful time leading up to your stay with us (having missed your flight, arriving a day late, etc). and preferred to rest in your room. We thought it best not to disturb you. We wish that we had known that you wanted to visit with us more.
Thanks for assisting the older couple. Our electronic door is easy for guests to use and is quite popular. It makes check in “a breeze” at any time of day or night. We are unable to be at the B&B 24/7. We leave, as you can imagine, for groceries, general shopping and even sometimes to be with our friends. That said we are always just a phone call away and can get back to the B&B quickly if our guests call us (as we request in the welcome note attached to the electronic pad) from the phones in all rooms and the entry hall.
Kerrisdale, an eight block walk (10 minute walk), from our front door is a treasure trove of small boutiques and restaurants. The restaurants do close early. In our TreeHouse Guide, located in all rooms, our guests can find information about restaurants nearby and phone numbers so that they can call to check hours.
Our bargain rooms, the Far East Room 1 and Far East Room 2 share a bathroom which is of course cleaned daily. We provide separate towels, bath mats, face cloths, etc for each room. Also, an additional bathroom with sink and toilet is available for guest use.
We would love to have you stay with us again. Have a great summer!

“A lovely stay for the lonely traveler”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 July 2011

I absolutely loved Vancouver and I believe that the stay at the Treehouse Bed and Breakfast enhanced the experience. The breakfast- one of the best I have eaten at a Bed and Breakfast - the courses are ample and a gastronomic indulgence - Barb takes care to understand any allergies and caters to each individuals specific gastronomic needs, Bob and Barb are excellent hosts - they pay attention to all the nuances that make the stay a pleasure. The staff are extremely friendly and very helpful the rooms are always clean and well maintained.
I loved the location I do not drive - yet I could commute directly to downtown Vancouver with only one change if required - the 49 a two minute walk and 16 (4 -8 minute walk) are easily accessible.
All in all it was a wonderful stay and I would definitely return to Vancouver at my earliest convenience and stay at this wonderful B&B .
Thanks Barb and Bob for a wonderful stay
Rajeev
