I booked a private room with ensuite and it was very spacious and clean.
I'd recommend staying here as it compares very well to a lot of hotels I've stayed at and it is very good value for money.
The location is also very convenient for downtown Vancouver.

This is a basic hotel. It is clean, staff is friendly. The rooms are really small and we had a beautiful view towards a building wall 2 meters across the street. Internet is for free and very fast. The location is not too bad, could be better.

The prices for hotels in Vancouver were just silly.They all appeared very over priced.
When a work mate of ours who also does alot of travelling recommended we look up the YWCA Hotel we both laughed. We have never stayed in this type of accomadation before and had some nasty preconcieved ideas about what we could possibly expect for that price,
To our amazement we both found it to be a wonderfull place , that caters to everyones budget and accomadation needs. For us it made Vancouver a very cost effective stay. We stayed there on 2 seperate occassions each for over a week.
Each time we got a Bright ,sun filled private room with our own private ensuite bathroom.
Rooms were moderate in size ,very clean and well serviced daily.The room had a moderate size fridge,iron and ironing board , tea and coffee making facilitys and a very comfortable queensize bed. The room decore was reasonable and well cared for.
We were also given a plastic box to use for our stay that contained basic cooking utensils and cuttlery. Large shared well equiped kitchens were located on a few of the floors of the hotel for guests use ...if they wanted.
Reception staff were very efficient ,welcoming and had wonderfull knowledge about all of the local attractions and locations to visit..
On the ground floor was a small coffee bar that served wonderfull hot choclate and coffee.
The ground floor also had internet terminals for guests to use. The price was reasonable.
We would definately stay at this hotel again.

For a YWCA Hotel you can't expect much. The single rooms are small and some washrooms are shared. Also wifi cost money. But on the other hand you need a cheap place to stay, for a night, and good access to downtown Vancouver then this is the place for you. There's also a kitchen (that's shared by everybody in the building), and a small cafe (but no restaurant).
