I stayed here for 5 nights recently. From the exterior, the hotel looks a bit dated, but the inside is thoroughly modern and renovated. The lobby was very attractive and the restaurant had a great view of the harbor. The room was spacious, remodeled, and very clean. The bathroom was average size but very tastefully decorated and very clean as well.
The only complaint about the room is the heating/cooling system. There is no electronic thermostat. Instead there is a dial on the wall which sets the fan to loud, LOUDER, and LOUDEST. It was hard to get the room to a comfortable temperature without making the fan run. And the fan was plenty loud.
I had a room on the 12th floor with a "city" view. The wireless internet in the room was plenty fast to hold Facetime voice conversations with my family back home. However, colleagues who stayed on the 5th floor said their internet service was very slow. Could be the number of people using it, or could be some other factor.
The location is great for downtown. About 10 minute walk to Stanley Park, Gastown, or Robson Street. Many restaurants are nearby.
The hotel restaurant was quite good. A bit expensive, but they specialize in seafood and the two dishes I ordered were both excellent.
The hotel staff was friendly and helpful when I had questions. The conference facilities were perfect for our event.
Overall I had a nice stay and would stay here again.
