The Metropolitan is nicely situated right in the center of Vancouver. Service is good, price a bit high but not too bad. Overall, a very pleasant experience
Very friendly people and big, beautiful room. The view was not the greatest, but that could just be where our room was located, but not a deal breaker

Spent two nights at the Metropolitan where I was also attending a seminar. The room was thoughtfully designed, well equipped [iPhone/iPod docking alarm clock!] and beautifully appointed. The bed was supremely comfortable and the bathroom large with both a corner shower and a full tub. Hotel staff were *always* very courteous and helpful.

The food and service during the seminar were also provided by the hotel, and were excellent. They were very accommodating for one of the members of the seminar who had a gluten-free diet restriction.

One of the servers heard our instructor coughing while presenting, and came back with a specially made cup of tea with honey for them, in a big mug with a note that said "Hope this helps!". The presenter was very impressed, as were the rest of the attendees.

I travel to Vancouver once a month, and this will now be my destination of choice.

My husband and I spent 6 nights at this gem of a hotel. It's location is fantastic , directly behind the pacific centre mall and the major tourist attractions including Stanley park are short walks away. We were given a great room on a high floor with a huge bathroom both with whirlpool bath tub, walk in shower and his and hers basins. The decor of the bathroom was slightly dated but still very luxurious. The hotel has a great pool, jacuzzi and gym facilities which are generally not very busy so whatever time we would go down to enjoy, it was very relaxing. The thing that stood out the most was the amazing level of customer service delivered by the small team working at this hotel. Everyone from the front desk staff, the concierge team, the door men to the cleaning staff were amazing. They were friendly and went out of their way to deliver exceptional service. Thank you for making our stay so comfortable. We will definitely stay here again!
Oh and the pancakes served in diva were divine.....yum!

And I mean that, because from the moment you step in all the staff make you feel welcome and that your custom appreciated. Full disclosure - I rarely stay anywhere else in Vancouver, and a colleague has over 200 nights. But they keep track and reward loyalty - a box of chocolates may not sound much but shows a level of customer service I have rarely seen elsewhere and which I, for one, appreciate.
Location - great. Downtown. Two hundred metres from the penultimate stop on the Canada Line and an easy walk even in light drizzle, but even if it is raining cats and dogs everyone takes their umbrella to Vancouver! An easy walk to the waterfront and Yaletown, a bit further to Robson Street or Stanley Park, but then you need to lose those extra pounds, don't you.
Rooms are great. I haven't used the restaurant very often, but it is reputed to be very good and the one time i had breakfast there I had no complaints. I have spent many hours at the Diva bar, and the bar staff are great, although on my last visit they were cutting back the opening hours, I guess while everyone recovers from the fiscal shock of Christmas.
Bottom line - I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, business or pleasure.
