“Wonderful staff, great hotel!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 September 2011

I chose this hotel partly based on the good reviews on TA, and partly because most hotels in Vancouver charge up to $30/night for parking. Parking is free here, and there is easy access to anywhere you want to go in the Vancouver area. It is also only a couple of blocks from the Exhibition.

All of the staff here are very friendly and several took the time to stop and get to know us a bit. The hotel looks like it has been recently renovated, although there seem to be parts that haven't been upgraded yet. (the sauna was closed)

Everything was clean, but there was a bit of an odour in the laundry room, which looks like it used to be a washroom. There is only one guest washer & dryer, so I had to juggle my laundry time with another guest. The breakfast was a typical hotel continental breakfast. It was always well supplied, and there was lots of food to go around.

When we arrived, we were upgraded to a suite, which was a wonderful surprise. Like the rest of the hotel, our room was very clean and looked like it had been renovated fairly recently. We had a street view room, and while we could hear a lot of street noise during the day, it quieted down a fair bit at night. We were able to drown out what noise was left with the air conditioner, and slept very well in the comfortable beds.

We will stay here again if we are even in the Vancouver area again. Thank you to the staff for making our stay enjoyable!

“Highly recommended”

We returned to stay at the Hotel recently during a busy time after spending time there a few weeks earlier and were very happy with the level of service. The room was clean and well maintained, the breakfast pantry was always full even at the end of service late in the morning and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

We ended up staying longer than we expected and the staff were always happy to make sure we had everything we needed.

The location of the Hotel was also a pleasant surprise, not far from the city and most major attractions and right near all the buses. We were with a car and the parking garage was easily accessible.

I would highly recommend the Ramada at exhibition park and will return there whenever I am back in Vancouver

“Great hotel for the price”

The hotel was very clean and well maintained. A computer and printer was provided for guest use which proved very handy when we needed to check-in online and print boarding passes for an internal flight. Our room was comfortable without the frills (you get what you pay for). Breakfast was a continental breakfast but there was a good range of food. The only problem we found was that the breakfast room was very small and could not cope with the number of guests. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and spent time pointing out the various areas of the city and even made some suggestions of places to visit. We found the hotel very handy for local transport as there is a bus stop right outside. Unless you are a McDonalds fan we didn't manage to find anywhere within the area to eat so we tended to stay out and eat wherever we were visiting for the day.

“nice place, ? location”

we stayed here during the first weekend of August. The good points were we had a nice room; they upgraded us to a two room suite, which was very nice and comfortable. One room had a sofa and two chairs with the queen-size and the other room had a queen-size. The only strange thing was that they had two TVs, which my grandson liked, but the nicer TV was in the room without the sofa. I would encourage them to switch the furniture. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and quickly met our every request. The breakfast was excellent. I thought it was a very nice hotel. The downside was it was in a downtrodden neighborhood and a little far away from the center of the city. Half of the buildings in the area were boarded up, but we did find a nice deli which gave us free cookies and two free loaves of bread with our meal. Our room was on the street side so there was some noise, but it is a city. My only problem with this hotel is the location, but they do have free parking, a plus in Vancouver. Also, the hot tub was broken, and I got the idea it has been for a while.

“Won't go there again!”

I booked this hotel through hotels.com. During my 6 day stay in this hotel, the towels were never replaced or washed. Dirt was swept under the bed. The receptionists were always nervous and upset as though something bad had happened. I asked them a couple of times for information about the city and transportation and every time I was responded in an impolite way. Some of them were very rude and impolite. Transportation was an issue as well. Won't recommend this hotel to any one.

Hello Sir,
It really surprises me to hear that you did'nt get any towel service during your 6 day stay at our establishment. Our towels are replaced on a daily basis when left on the floor or in the bathtub. If the customer leaves towels hanging on the rack then we do not replace as per the" eco-friendly " sign hanging on the towel rack.
I'am also surprised to hear that you found dirt swept under the bed. We do check our rooms on regular basis after the cleaning is done by our housekeepers. We pride ourselves in providing excellent and friendly guest service.
Your comments about our staff that work hard to make our guest's stay confortable is inappropriate.
I would like to thank you for bringing this to my attention and would like to investigate this further and would appreciate if you would contact me to discuss.
Sincerely,
Ali General Manager
