“Great Location and Service”

We stayed at St Regis for 2 nights in early May of 2011. Room is clean and the washroom is spotless with heated floor, we were impressed! Love the Fiji bottle of water. The location is excellent that we walked to most places (Gastown, Chinatown, Granville street..etc.) Took the bus to the Granville island market (do not miss this, lots of good eats). Lots small restaurants and shops around the hotel, there is a coffee shop and also a drugmart across the street from the hotel. We had a excellent stay, the staff is most helpful and the hot breakfast is very satifying. Wouldn't think off stay anywhere else when we visit Vancouver.

“Nice weekend getaway!”

Great location. Right near Gastown, downtown shopping, skytrain. Staff was awesome, room was comfortable and not noisy on the fifth floor. Great breakfast.

Room Tip: fifth floor is probably the least noisy for this downtown location.

“Entirely civilized, close to YVR Skytrain.”

I stayed at the SR twice, flying out of and back into YVR on business. The proximity of the SR to the southbound Skytrain to YVR was a big consideration and that worked out beautifully. It's a 3 minute walk, mostly covered, to the Downtown Skytrain terminal and a tidy 25 minutes or so to YVR for less that 5 bucks.

The SR itself is really a first rate hotel. Both rooms I stayed in were spotlessly cleaned, smelled nice, were modern with all new luxury materials and fittings, very classy staff who were prompt and thorough in every way. Parking is in a secure, heated garage in the building next door, but it's an easy 2 minute walk back to the hotel front door. There is really nice dining within easy walking distance. I ate at the Gotham steakhouse and the Shore Club, both within 25 meters of the SR front door, and both were excellent. SR breakfast lounge is a bit utilitarian, but the breakfasts were fast and more than adequate, particularly for a complimentary breakfast. Internet and all phone calls are included which is a really nice touch for business travel. Most hotels charge ridiculous, insulting fees for both these basic services. Nicely done, SR.

On balance, this was one of the more pleasant hotel experiences I've encountered. The SR is a smaller organization than the giant, multinational hotel chains with a business model that seems to be based on a superior client experience, and that difference is apparent in every detail. It's my new downtown Vancouver hotel, no question.

Room Tip: The King room was larger than the Queen, which was a touch cramped. Worth spending a few extra bucks...

“Great 2nd stay at the St. Regis”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

2nd time here.

Jeremy (the General Manager) personally checked us in an hour before check-in and took our bags up. There is also Juan at the front desk who was very knowledgeable, articulate and patient.

Our room was on the top floor (5th) facing the street.

The amenities are quite in line with any other world class boutique hotel. Excellent size room, heated floors in the bathroom, complimentary Fiji bottled water, mints on turndown service.

Road noise is apparent due to the location of the property but that disadvantage turns rosy during the daytime as there is a Tim Hortons (open till 2am) and an A&W restaurant (open 24hrs) right across the street. High end shopping like Holt Renfrew is available to your wallet a block away.

Complimentary day passes to the Steve Nash Sports Gym.

Right next to the Granville Skytrain station which is a much nicer way to get around the city than the car.

Complimentary full breakfast available in the lower level of the hotel. Elevator only accessible by room keycard and cctv cameras everywhere which made us feel safe.

Special mention to the housekeeping staff. Smooth sailing all the way.

Except for the Moda hotel down the street, this is the only hotel I would stay at for any length of time in Van city. -Mr.Frankie &Ms.Jamil

Room Tip: back of the hotel to avoid road noise

“Clean, modern, great location”

This was a great pick for our short getaway to Vancouver. We had a free room, using United Airlines miles. The room had a teeny tiny window with no view at all, but otherwise no complaints at all. Easy walk from the Skytrain to the airport. Close to food, shopping, everything downtown. Great free breakfast, free internet. Rooms are not big, but very comfortable and clean and stylish. Highly recommended! We previously stayed at the L'Hermitage (which was also excellent and rooms were much bigger), but I liked this location better -- feels a bit more lively on the street.
