“Great hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

I have stayed at this hotel about every six weeks for the past year and it has always been a great experience. The staff are very friendly, the service excellent and the hotel really comfortable. Rooms are big and have lots of space if you're staying for a few days and will be working in the room; desks are good size.

Good bar and food right in the hotel if you are just hanging out alone in the evening and has a really nice pool on the roof that is rarely used and is great if you want to swim laps.

As always, the Westin beds are my favorite and give the best night's sleep of any hotel.

Only complaint: the really, really slow elevators. Takes an age to get down to the lobby in the morning. Gets pretty irritating when you're trying to get to work,

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a high floor.

“Dream Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

I won a competition, was flown to Vancouver(from Ireland) was put up in the Westin Grand in March 2011 and the rest is a secret shh! haha

The hotel was beautiful and modern. As far as I believe the hotel used to be apartments but was converted at some stage.

The staff were very helpful and friendly helping me figure out how to make phone call's from my (irish) mobile phone, showing me the way to mac cosmetics, giving us ideas on outings, the breakfast waiter was a delight

The Rooms were gorgeous with big comfy beds, well lit, ventilated, heated and well equipped. I stayed in a room with 2 queen bed(I think queen.. double anyway!) about half way up the building.

The food was very tasty, I only ate breakfast in the hotel but it was very well presented and tasted even better.

The only downfall is the lift/elevator as there are 2 but go up and down randomly so you could be waiting 15 minutes for one to bring you down or up, I would suggest one just be for going up and one just be for going down.
The hotel is in the middle of everything at a great location.

f i were to go back to Vancouver and wanted to spoil myself for a few nights of luxury I would book myself into the Westin Grand again in a heart beat!
:)
(i clicked solo but i my Mum was with me.. yet it didn't feel like a family or friend type of visit.)

“Grey Cup Weekend”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

Stayed at this Westin Nov 24-28 2011 when the Grey Cup was played in Vancouver. Had a 1 br suite with a pullout sofa, perfect for 2 football fans. We were on the 23rd floor with a perfect view of the new stadium. Within 1 block was a liquor outlet, grocery store, killer deli, Japadog. Used the pool and hot tub, both outdoors. Did not eat there, seemed expensive. Shorf walk from the airport skytrain stop.Ideal location. Only issue was having to wait forever for an elevator. 1 car up, one down. The hotel was full, but 20 mins for an elevator is a bit much.

Room Tip: pick a high floor, or all you see is buiuldings.

“Business Trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

We loved the corner suite. Lots of room and very clean. Staff very kind and helpful. We came to the city on business. We had one complaint, after a long 12 hour work day we wanted to have a nice meal without having to leave the hotel, that wasn't possible as the menu was a
Tapias style, meaning small share type fare. Very disappointing!!!! I complained to the front desk manager, she felt bad and said I should have ordered in room as the portions were larger and a liitle more choice. I wish I knew. About half an hour went by and our wonderful server came up to our room and gave us a coupon for a free breakfast of our choice for two. It was a good breakfast. I just wish Westin would keep up with Four Points in Victoria and Sheraton in Toronto, both had amazing restaurants. Sometimes you just want the convenience of a full service Hotel.

Room Tip: Secure your room 14 days ahead for a better rate at least on starwood website. Corner suites larger...

Dear NancyD,

Thank you for taking the time to share your review. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your corner suite and that your interactions with our associates were memorable! We appreciate your feedback about the menu at Hidden Tasting Bar & Social Lounge as well. You’ll be happy to hear that we have just redesigned Hidden’s menu concept so that it will feature both tapas style choices as well as larger entrees. We hope we can welcome you back to try the new menu soon!

Stay Well,
