I stayed here on 30th January. Great location, friendly staff, nice bedroom. A few things that keep it in the realm of 4*. The bathroom was an refit i.e. the bath and plumbing were sub par. Keen to charge $14 for WiFi which seems cheap given the expense of the room. The t.v. was old so a small screen and poor quality image. All in all a good hotel with a few provisos.

Stayed on the Sutton on Saturday January 21, 2012 with two girlfriends in a one bedroom suite. View was fantastic! Location was terrific! Robson St just around the corner, anything you could want or need at your fingertips.
Service was great. Quick and easy with efficient staff everywhere.
Room was nice. King bed, big bathroom with great tub and separate shower. Nice sized sitting room with couch and two chairs. Nice tv. Had champagne and chocolate dipped strawberries in suite waiting for us.
Sunday brunch was the bomb! $42 pp but worth every penny. Buffet includes all sorts of breakfast choices, a huge seafood section with mussels, clams, prawns and salmon. A great salad bar, a beautiful piece of meat and even some japanese appies. Yum yum. Oh and the desserts were works of art that tasted delicious.
There are lots of great places to stay in Vancouver but this hotel is definitely in my top 5.

If your passion is shopping, this is the hotel for you! Close to the shops on Robson St. and just a couple of blocks from Granville. Sutton Place Hotel is also an easy walk to Rogers Arena and B.C. Place Stadium. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean, quiet, and comfortable. The T.V. needs to be updated to a flat screen. Parking is expensive like all downtown hotels. $39.50 per night but they do allow self parking, in and out privledges, and a stay until 4:00PM. Our room was on the seventh floor, the only view being other buildings and the back alley but nonetheless a most enjoyable visit. Scotiabank cineplex theatre is almost directly across the street should you wish to take in a movie.

Sutton Place Hotel is lovely and the service is superb for a pretty big hotel. It isn't cheap but right at Burrard and Robson in the heart of downtown you pay for location. If you can't afford the hotel book William at Vida Spa in the hotel for a massage. Pure heaven. The only negative about the room was lighting which, as is the case in most hotels, was too dim. The restaurant is also surprisingly good with excellent fish and a very nice breakfast buffet including smoked fish and miso soup. There is also a really nice pool and gym area though I didn't have time to try either.
