We spent some time narrowing down Vancouver BC hotels to make sure we got the 'perfect' one for a long anniversary weekend, and we did good in choosing the Hotel Georgia! From the moment we arrived they treated us with excellence. We were extremely delighted with our room, the staff, the location, the quiet, the amenities.... and the gym is the best I've seen. We rode to dinner in the hotel's Bentley, and they promptly picked us up when we were done. They knew our names by the time we got back from dinner. Each person we interacted with was completely professional and genuine. You could tell they staff enjoyed working there.
It is located right at the center of downtown, yet just far enough off the beaten path I didn't feel like we were in a high traffic zone. Robson is 1 block away, and Gastown is about 5 blocks the other direction. We didn't use our car at all for 2 days.
This was by far one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in - including ours at home.
It is a new hotel, and the outdoor fire-pit area is not complete yet but we will be back soon to enjoy that as well!
If I HAD to say something negative I would say I wish there was a hot tub... but the tub in our room was so nice we really didn't need one!

Not only was the room exquisite, the textures, colours and lighting beautiful, but it was so logically appointed! The bed is beautiful and comfortable. The bathtub was a dream, as was the shower(Of course, they have radiant heated floors.)! The toilet is separate, which, with the sliding glass doors closed, is blessedly very private. The recent move to all glass open concept bathrooms in many hotels, boutique and otherwise, often overlooks this most basic necessity.

The staff went above and beyond the call of duty. The door man walked me to the sky train station, trolleyed my bag for me the whole way and refused a tip! The gals at the help desk made a hair appointment for me.

We had an absolutely magnificent meal at the restaurant, and I enjoyed a gorgeous bowl of chicken broth soup at the little cafe, it had some fresh lemon and green beans (that were not overlooked) added just at the end. Delicious!

I would travel half as often, so that I may afford the Georgia. It is totally worth it.

I was only in Vancouver for 1 night for a tradeshow at the Rosewood Hotel Georgia, and because they were offering a special rate, I canceled my reservation at the Metropolitan and re-booked at the Hotel Georgia. The location is fantastic, just 1/2 block from the metro/Skytrain station from the airport. Room was very spacious, but the bathroom was the best: separate tub and shower (always a plus in my book), with heated floors. Didn't sleep well but that had more to do with my raging insomnia than the room, and staff was exceptional, very courteous and efficient. I'd definitely go back if they ever offer a rate that's within my company's travel policy.

The washrooms are huge and they have great technology in the room
