This was our second stay here but my first review as I wasn't on Trip Advisor until recently. We chose Tofino Motel again because of a very pleasant stay the first time. This time was very pleasant overall as well, but we noticed a few minor housekeeping issues:
-only one roll of toilet paper,
-only one facecloth and hand towel,
-no shower curtain,
-a seriously slow-draining sink in the bathroom.

We didn't notice these until we returned around 8pm from our evening activities. We rang the bell at reception but there was no answer, so we had to make do overnight. Staff were very apologetic the next morning, and we are confident these were just random oversights.

We also noticed significant noise from the stairs leading to the upper floor, and from the suite above us; footsteps, creaky floors, toilet and shower sounds, voices. I think we were fortunate on our previous stay that there were no (or at least, quieter) guests above us.

Otherwise, we experienced the same spotless rooms, comfortable beds, friendly staff, and wonderful view as before. The mini-fridge was cold, there was a working hair dryer and kettle provided along with a nice selection of teas and coffees.

Tofino is a popular destination, and as such can be expensive. Still, we were a little surprised that even in dark-and-rainy October, our room rate was $125/night for two adults. Tofino Motel is becoming our base for our Pacific Rim getaways, and because of the overall high quality of the property and service, we will continue to stay here when we're in town.

I discovered the Tofino Harbourview Motel two years ago. This is our second trip and we were looking forward to getting back to Tofino. The Tofino Motel is located right on the edge of the townsite; an easy walk to our favourite restaurant, The Inn at Tough City or any of the other good restaurants in the downtown area.

This is an older building with larger rooms than I am accustom to. It has been well maintained and is immaculately clean. The beds and linens are excellent, it has newer carpets and the unit smells nice and fresh. There is a fridge in every room and the internet service is very good and user friendly. The bathrooms are quite large with lots of counter space to spread out your "stuff." The shower heads are adjustable and there is good water pressure and lots hot water.

The hotel is built on a north-south axis so you see the rising sun and moon. Every room also has a view of the Tofino crab dock and the surrounding islands. There is a nice deck on every room to enjoy the sunrises.

For a tourist town the rates are fine and reflect the season. I'll go back.

We rated the hotel as average - only because we have stayed in some magnificent places. If comparing this motel only to others in its class, the Tofino Motel excells.

The AAA rating is accurate, but there is much more to this delightful motel than 2 diamonds. The motel shows a pride in ownership, and it is well taken care of. We were in one of the main floor rooms. The carpets are new (a terrific blue color), and the rooms are wider than average - leaving a wider than usual walkway between the beds (new) and furniture (dated). The width allows plenty of room to walk past our lounging big dogs. Aesthetically, the walls were a boring beige with undersized artwork. The rooms are quieter than most. Although the motel was fully occupied, we didn't hear any of our neighbors (next door or upstairs). When we met one of our neighbors, she commented that she didn't even know there were dogs next door (in our room). We wish the bathtub had an arc/curved shower curtain rod, but the bathroom was clean. Plenty of towels. The balcony (on all rooms) has a clear (acrylic?) screen/railing and plastic chairs. The view across the sound is lovely - we watched the fog roll in and out and enjoyed the reflected suset across the sound in the eastern mountains & sky.

Tofino Motel location is excellent. Easy walk to town for breakfast (Caffe Vincente has excellent espresso/lattes) and general Tofino enjoyment.

The dogs loved the big grassy yard in the back. There are also picnic tables and a horseshoe pitch. We all appreciated the hose access, to rinse off the ocean and beach sand from the dogs (the staff offered towels for the dogs). The pups give the Motel 4 paws up!

General info: nice size refrigerator; no A/C, no screens on window or sliding door; Beds are full (not queen); Large bathrooms, long counters.

General location info: walking distance to town; 4 minute walk from Eagle Aerie (Roy Vickers Gallery); 2+ miles from Chesterman beach; 2 miles from Wildside Grill & Tacofino.
Although "Shelter" restaurant is walking distance, unless you want "hip", for the price point and quality, skip it and make reservations at "The Pointe" at the Wickaninnish instead.

This motel is clean with a patio for every room. The view looks out to the harbour. The bathroom is large with a nice shower. One down side would be no a/c. It's the perfect location to just park ur vehicle and walk into town to explore.
