We were only staying for one evening and because selected the Inn at Tough City as our place to stay because of it's location. When we arrive we were told that all the power was out from Uculet, Tofino and further up. We had looked forward to a nice dinner and ended up making sandwiches from food that we bought at the Co-Op. The power didn't come on until 11:00 pm and of course we had turned in for the evening. Everything is very old and even though the bed was comfortable it was a mattress put on top of a frame constructed in wood products. We had a partial view of the water but again the small deck looked as though they were doing some work on it and there were 2 chairs out there that had seen better days. When we checked out the next day I asked them if they could give us a discount being as we were inconvenienced with no power and he just laughed and treated it as a joke. I know that in the future if I ever travel to Tofino again I'll find more suitable accommodation, power or no power.

Ok people..........first your in Tofino,high prices without the luxury you would think you would get for your money........i have stayed in a few places in Tofino and if you look everybody has had poor experiances.............I would rather had a poor experiance with a 200.00 a night place then a 500.00 night place...........I did stay here I am not sure what these people are talking about,I thought the owner was down to earth and great to deal with ,as with there staff.........the rooms were large and clean,great view of the harbour,close to town for you to walk around,,,,,,,,,,,,sat on the balcony at night with some wine and loved the sun comming in the morning and drinking coffee watching the activity of the harbour..........its more for couples,yes there is noise from the harbour/town/bar............but it quiets down when its late just like a city.............for the price and what you get I would stay here again.

We stayed here because it was the only place we could find in town that would let us book for a single night on a weekend. The price was high but the room (#2) was very clean with a great view out over the water.

The staff was very friendly and were also helpful in finding a place to store our rented bikes, even offering space inside the adjacent building.

The noon checkout was very enjoyable :)

So much character in this amazingly cute building. Rough around the edges, but every inch of the place is a wonder. So much art, carvings, paintings, pictures. The place is alive with Tofino. For me it perfectly symbolizes Tofino, wild, care free and alive with spirit. Love this place.
